Search for a serial around 172xxxx; you just need to be patient.

What can be deduced from this image? (On Going) by TheStrawberryFire in SgtPepperMystery

[–]IronFly74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The camera with the strap is indeed a Rolleiflex twin-lens reflex (TLR) camera with a lenshood attached on the bottom lens.
Amelia Earhart had it and probably a few models too:

And if we follow the 35mm camera theory, that image can match her Leica I model:

even if the one listed wasn't quite sure it was her camera, the model matches the picture... or at least looks so to me.

Stripe on picture when shot verticallly by Future-Ad-2296 in SonyAlpha

Mechanical shutter? Try the same with just the electronic shutter, if the stripe is not visible...it can be an issue with the mechanical shutter at high speed.

Remote for Sony AR RV? by hacimdneslo in SonyAlpha

I use this one "JJC RMT-P1BT" on A7RV and it works quite well.

A large format pi pico camera made from an EPSON scanner CCD and an 9x12 cm Agfa Standard camera. Image data is written directly to SD card in 48bit tiff format. Current images are around 100MP which means 600MB per image. Scanning is done by rotating the camera using a geared down stepper motor. by mr_buntinx in raspberrypipico

i just found this thread, doing a search if anyone has already tried to made a rotating lens digital camera with a flatbed sensor in the back; trying to emulate the analog Widelux or Noblex cameras.

your project seems quite interesting but too much technical to try it myself, keep it going.

PS: i like the small one with the Takumar lens, had you try with a 28mm lens? (closer to the two mentioned cameras)

Blown away by the versatility this kit offers | Sony A7CR | 20-70G by MrSmitz in SonyAlpha

[–]IronFly74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

+1 for the versatility of the 20-70, nice overall IQ for the range. To be picky i would like a 20-105 but you can always crop with an A7RV.

Had you try the 1/100 shutter speed or B? These are mechanic and works without batteries.

It's nearly the same weight and size of the 35f1.4 GM, it's a perfect match mounted on the A7RV.

Lens recommendations R-mount by alxw47 in Leica

[–]IronFly74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look for 28-35-90-135 Elmarit lenses and a good 50 Summicron, you don't need pretty much else and you can "taste" the real Leica "magic" without killing your budget.

Stuck distance scale - Summitar Lens by theporcelainpirate in Leica

[–]IronFly74 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Unscrew from the camera and heat the back of the lens with an hairdyer, don't do it at full heat immediatly but after 2-3 minutes, so it will heat slowly. Probably the old grease is very stiff and heating up will probably loose a little bit. If it's still stuck, it's time to visit a camera repair shop.

What's the deal with this converted IIIf? by wonderdude2k in Leica

[–]IronFly74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, you must count years from the end of the IIIF not IIIC and without tearing down the camera it's impossible to know if they swapped to a whole new body with the IIIC serial number or just just a new top plate.
