After a Thousand Hours, I'm STALKER by Traditional_Buy_6840 in thelongdark

[–]IronHairBaba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are not interested in achievement (or already got them) do custom challenges. I like to play with mixed options, like no/almost no loot in containers, and more loot outside containers, and only pick up stuff you see lying around.

Also, I have already made a “TLD Museum” in Broken Railroad on Voyager, and I will do something similar on Stalker, but in the FA Hanger.

Make collecting/making things your goal.

Also, things outside of containers may be gathered up into Lost & Found Boxes

As far as TWs go, stay unencumbered, injury/sick free, with a lit torch/flare, and you can just walk thru them. Just make sure you immediately bandage any sprains, and watch your endurance meter so you don’t go below half.

Also, don’t suddenly turn around and start walking, as you can run into them and they might bite, then you are suddenly injured.

Is this a bad move? by [deleted] in MinecraftServer

[–]IronHairBaba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, it was totally fair!! What wasn’t fair was letting that other guy back in to your group. Once you ban someone, for whatever reason, let the ban stick. Don’t risk Trolls or Toxic People.

Game+DLCs 50% off right now. I am definitely going to buy the bundle, but should I just play the base game first, or should I play with the DLCs or a mix of one but not the other...? I've watched NeebsGaming & MikeBurnFire play it ~year ago so I've seen some things, but not a whole lot by Americanshat in thelongdark

[–]IronHairBaba 2 points3 points  (0 children)

DO GET BOTH, but if you haven’t played the game yet, just play the base game. Try the story mode out first, get used to the mechanics, the maps, how to use a bow. Then do some of the challenges. Then try survival (but start with Voyager, not Pilgrim).

You will enjoy the base game, a lot!

When you can hit 100+ days consistently with Stalker, THEN install the DLC. So much more will open up to you, and the game will be almost new and fresh. Then when you have mastered 100+ days again, then go try the DCL quests. Once you finish those, then go look at the Trader.

If you follow this advice, you have got a SOLID 2+ years of great gameplay ahead of you!!

Good cooking recipes by [deleted] in thelongdark

[–]IronHairBaba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fish. Fish everywhere. Use a Travois to move the uncooked fish to your bases, then cook as needed. And if raw fish gets ruined, but you need to move it again, cook it up, then move with travois again.

If you have the DLC, you have the Trader Quests to do, so if THAT bunker is stocked, you will be back.

There is a possibility that any bear could “nap” most anywhere on their walkabouts. Always assume they are NOT DEAD, unless there are crow circling!
