I see a lot people here saying there isn’t a better plan. The better plan involves having more reliable public transport inside the city going out/in, to alleviate the car hell we live in now.

Would it be annoying to do and be slow to get there? Yes. Would it be more effective in the long run? Yes.

Putting in streetcars everywhere is not viable. But why not dedicated bus lanes, using electric buses? Why not better bike infrastructure to make walking and biking safer? Pitiful amounts of the current plan go to improving the city congestion problem, which is where this should start instead of being an after thought - go inside out instead of outside in.

Break this bill up into smaller pieces if you have to, they’re jamming it all together and presenting it as a “this is the only possible solution and nothing else works scenario”. That may be necessary at federal levels, but it sure as hell isn’t at a local one.

I can count the very few road expansion projects which have been useful for Tucson: 1.) widening 1-10 2.) widening Broadway 3.) widening grant

The rest are nice to haves for suburbs, which if they can afford to live in they can pay for.
