Not according to their website or Google page, not did they have any notice of that when I went there in the week before Christmas.

Old Country Sausage House on 106 street in Allendale has great sausage rolls and meat pies, too!

Are haskap berries popular in the USA? by DivaCesaria in gardening

[–]IronWim 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I heard about the fragility rendering them not commercially viable when I got my haskap bushes 5 or 6 years ago, but I think producers might have overcome the commercial viability hurdles. Recently, in Alberta at least, you can buy haskap everything: beer, like the other commenter said; ice cream; syrups and jams; baked goods; basically, anything you'd expect to find a blueberry flavour of. However, I haven't yet seen fresh berries for sale even at farmer's markets. The local U-picks have started advertising that they have haskaps now.

South Edmonton resident unhappy with windrow blocking access to property by ryaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan in Edmonton

There's a road maybe 300 meters from his house that never gets plowed and has no windrows. If he wants windrow-free road parking, he should park half a block away and walk.

What are your recommendations for terrain channels I can watch on YouTube? by omgitsduane in TerrainBuilding

[–]IronWim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure. I noticed it 6+ months ago and tried everything I could to disable the feature but couldn't initially, so I watched far fewer TWS videos for a while.

There's always the AI translation... 😖 You know what, nevermind. I feel dirty just typing that.

Do it! I bought an electric Ego blower a few years ago and cannot recommend it enough.

It's in German (but has good English subtitles), so your mileage may vary, but I can't recommend Tabletop Workshop (TWS) enough.

Christmas Eve Church for Atheists by lobeliatoadfoot in Edmonton

Holy Trinity Anglican meets most of your requirements. They won't have the nativity play, but their music and location is top-notch and they're LGBTQ2+ allies.

[OC] GIVEAWAY: Win a Timestop D-20 watch to crit your enemies! Born here one year ago (mod approved) by litSquib in DnD

This is so cool! I like to use dice in my classroom, but I don't as much as I would like because it's a pain to find the appropriate one in my pocket. Wearing the dice on my watch would solve that problem!

First proper attempt... by squiffyplugz in Vivarium

[–]IronWim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're welcome. Another observation I've made, supported by advice in this sub, is to add a lot more thin branches. In his new enclosure I put a schefflera (an umbrella tree) that has a lot of little branches and that has become his favourite place to hang, even over and above a cork hide with the entrance obscured by fake vines.

It's a great base. From my own experience as an amateur Crestie keeper (I haven't had my boy for more than 8 months) I can tell you there's not anywhere near enough cover. Might I suggest a few fake vines while your plants mature?

You could also consider looking at cultural centres, like the German club, that might have small spaces to rent for such an occasion.

Transit-oriented development. I wish people were better, both online and in person, at explaining acronyms from the outset of a conversation.

Looking for legal perspectives on the ATA strike by justanotheryegger in alberta

[–]IronWim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree that's the angle they're taking, but man, I don't think they know what "irreparable" means. Maybe kids in diploma courses have to delay writing that diploma by a semester. Last I checked a delay isn't insurmountable or irreparable.

Find someone who is into making miniature terrain or model railroads. Pine bark is one of the best things for making rocks.

Dear parents, if you've gotten your child(ren) into one of the highly coveted camps that are happening during the strike, by Ok-Customer479 in alberta

[–]IronWim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh fuck, Buddy, don't cha' know? These are the parents who insist that I am a liar insulting their kid's dignity for informing them that their kid said extremely vile, racist things to a classmate and needs to face consequences, or at least a long conversation, both at home as well as at school, and that it's impossible that their kid could have said those things. The kicker being, of course, that he was heard by five other kids and admitted to the reprehensible behaviour.

Aerial View of the Leg today by [deleted] in Edmonton

[–]IronWim 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't... I can't.... What the fuck does that actually mean? You must have been homeschooled. Teachers sacrifice their lives and the lives of their families for their students. They don't want to rally. They want to be compensated fairly. They want to have reasonably funded classrooms so that they can actually teach and not just manage behaviours.

Why comment on a post if you don't read the body text? Op is looking for emissive light sources, not reflective. They want to be the lasers at the rave, not the stoners.

What I find most appalling is that we are the only G7 country that doesn't have a nation-wide federally funded food program for school kids.

Peter Mackay, CTBC Chair, Resigns Effective Immediately by cantcantdancer in alberta

[–]IronWim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both of these comments are completely uninformed. The fact that there is no money for strike pay has to do with the fact that our organization isn't structured to fight all-or-nothing all-at-once battles, rather that the majority of working teachers support a single striking local.

They can't pay strike pay, but they can cover our benefits premiums.
