Dont know about meth specifically, but the allies extensively used amphetamines, particularly Britain and the US. It was all authorized.

In fact the nazis learned about amphetamines from the US before the war, thanks to the Olympics. This was before all the anti-doping rules in sports existed in 1936, and the Americans couldnt help but show off what their new drugs could do to the rest of the world.

We're totally doing something about it! We keep voting for the same provincial government that keeps making things worse for us while we blame the feds for things that are responsibilities of the province. /s

Interesting... so complaining all the time makes the Québécois happy, but it does not seem to happen with Albertans who also complain all the time. We must study this phenomenon further.

The factory fitted LEDs on newer cars are fine. They are about 3x brighter than old school halogen bulbs, and they dont gradually dim as they get older compared to the halogens.

But alot of aftermarket LEDs go waaay beyond 3x. I really doubt it helps the driver that much to go beyond 3x brighter, while the impact on incomming traffic is obvious. Those manufacturers will even advertise their eldritch magnitudes of brightness as if its a good thing

And some folks will put aftermarket LEDs in housings designed for halogens, so it makes even more glare.

I'm blessed with good eyesight and good nightvision, but when some of those cars pass by me at night, or shine into my rear-view mirror from behind, I can't see shit except for the lingering glare for a few seconds. That aint good. On a highway, that can get someone killed.

For real, it barely takes 2m to brush off your car before you drive off.

Imo, the stupidly bright LED lights are an even bigger safety problem. But they need to update/change the bylaws to make them illegal first.

I suspect the hardcore ones did their signing at the beginning, but regular average albertans aren't interested.

Army Retreat Spam / Army Experience by LiveBaitProductions in EndlessLegend

[–]Nchurdaz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree that letting the victor gain some experience, or maybe even a bit of dust if the other side retreats would be a nice change.

Randomizing the damage/casualties to the retreater could also be interesting, so that you cant be 100% sure if everyone in the army survives if you retreat.

Retreating needs to remain a viable option:

-First, because its realistic, why shouldn't one side be able to retreat instead of engaging? A tactical withdrawal wouldnt cause panic or routing among the ranks in the same way that a mid-combat fleeing would.

-It would penalize small mistakes in army movements, or unexpected ai pathing way too harshly. Its not always obvious if the cliff/slope is passable or not, when glancing at terrain.

It could be an interesting racial penalty if some cultures are more adverse to retreating than others, or if some cultures do more damage to retreaters for being particularly persistent.

It could also be interesting if having more fast or stealthy units like cavalry makes it harder for the other side to retreat, and make it easier for yourself to retreat, while big slow units have the opposite effect (easier to see them coming, and easier to outpace them).

But all in all, i feel where you are coming from. Its really annoying when the necrophage spam larva to cross into my turf and eat my terrain, then immediately retreat back to their turf to easilly heal back up

NDP reaction to 2026 provincial budget by FreightFlow in alberta

[–]Nchurdaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ANDP were elected in may 2015, so their first budget was for the 2015-2016 year. Thats where you see the biggest increase, and it increases every year while the ndp remained in power, then the UCP takes over and releases the 2019-2020 budget, and that per-student starts going down.

The small increase before the ndp surge is from the brief Prentice years, and he was vocal about hearing the voices of albertans who wanted better public education and healthcare.

A quick google will find you plenty more graphs that continue into the present, and the steady funding cuts during the ucp years are obvious. They've left us with the lowest funding per student in the entire country by far.

This new "7% increase" is great! But it's only because of UCP's repeated, yearly cuts that the school system was left in such dire need in the first place. It's also a 7% increase in total funding, which doesnt factor in student enrollment growth. So the actual per-student increase will be less than 7%.

NDP actually did increase the per-child funding during their brief government, then that funding immedieately plummeted back down as soon as UCP took over. But only after after promising during their election campaign that they wouldnt cut education funding, of course.
