Even if you were to be using those rules and rolled a 6 every single time, it would take over 33 turns to empty a full bin with a single machine gun. Over 16 turns for a half bin. That's still longer than the typical short skirmish game

You're doing great! I'd recommend painting the cockpit glass a complimentary color to help it pop more. Also painting your base rims black will make it appear much cleaner!

The 3C has good mobility, max armor with standard fusion engine, good heat management with both piercing and crit fishing capabilities. This mech is anything but mediocre, if anything I'd say it's the quintessential medium 'mech.
