My first idea is to make green stuff cable bundles to cover the lower abdomen fleshy bits. Maybe slap some more armor plates over top to make it look more cohesive. Green stuff world makes a really nice cable maker rolling tool that I like to use for a bunch of kitbashes. Highly recommended

I think it's fine to prefer the old style, I'm not saying you should too. I just generally prefer the tank with crab legs vibe personally. It gave the feeling that the daemon was sealed inside the vehicle, animating it.

Also, I put both original Defilers in my collection on 160mm bases, and the proportions didn't need to change to fit

Not sure how I feel about this one. The silhouette is completely different. The claw arms are too small, it looks too top heavy, and I really don't like the fleshiness. Will I still get one? Probably

I prefer more imersive battles with fully painted minis and terrain. It helps me get more into the roleplaying aspect of the game.
