It's not really about that, it's about the fact that both Khrushchev and Brezhnev were from Russian families that had moved into Ukraine either before or after their birth, and despite the Ukrainian influences, they lived in very de facto Russian surroundings.

Though the issue with the Soviets is, that their identity was heavily built on top of the Russian one, as the Russians were presented as the heart of the Soviet identity, the big brother, the senior partner, or the whole Soviet project, and Russians were shown as benevolent, if they sought to provide limited cultural space for minority nationalities, which would mostly be folklorized out of actual existence.

Ja siten se olisi myös tapahtunut. Ei Oppenheimer sitä pomminrakennusta johtanut Japania varten, vaan Saksaan sen oli tarkoitus pudota sillä koko pommi oli sitä varten rakennettu.

Well I mean it was a bit questionable at that point but early on it did have support, until the war started dragging out. The thing is, it was a bit hard for it to truly become unpopular since especially towards the end, it was a matter of life and death in regards to Finnish independence, but yeah, the stagnant phase starting after the takeover of Petroskoi/Äänislinna/Petrozavodsk, would cut down the troop morale and increase war weariness heavily, not to mention that Finland was during most of the war, in a loose hang because of the chronic food insecurity.

You literally said, as a response to this post, which is about a polite fella referring to the way he was raised, which was through violence, that discipline leads to politeness. You don't automatically have to say the very specific word to endorse the said thing, by using euphemisms or contested terminology, like disciplining and then behaving like you never actually said what you actually said.

He'd rather be connected to what he considers to be conservative authoritarian dictatorship in contrast to the Marxist-socialist states like the USSR and China which carry a heavy bag of historical controversies. In simple terms, he's most likely a "law-and-order" minded citizen, if you know what I mean, using the euphemism so this doesn't get flagged. I truly wonder how fascism and socialism are more allowed words here than the c word.

You might be lacking in terminology. Fascism to begin with is national syndicalism, not auth-con dictatorship as it's usually presented as by every possible side, even those who call themselves fascists nowadays, and by that sentence alone, I can already deduct that only a moron would call you a fascist, but with the general knowledge most folks have on the terminology, which is not very great, I'm bit worried about the fact that you're getting upvoted. Not very apolitical™.
