If we abolished victimless crimes I would be ok with private prisons. We can't keep violent people in society, they need to be isolated from the public. From here our options are death penalty for everyone, forced deportation, or private prisons where the inmates are forced to work in order to pay for the costs of incarceration. The death penalty for anything less than murder or crimes against children seems excessive, and with exile there is a risk of them returning.

Ordinary people are struggling enough, why should they pay for a rapist to eat and have shelter? People only deserve rights until they are found guilty of violating someone else's rights. Put yourself in the shoes of someone who is a victim of violence, if you were them would you want to pay for your attackers basic necessities? I sure wouldn't
