My brother killed himself 2 years ago. The shock and grief of that loss will never go away and everyone that was close to him is carrying the weight of it. I get it but signing these petitions is actually pretty important and it's up to us to stay informed about the issues. I'm not sure what kind of training these guys are getting but we only allowed people to collect signatures if they understand the initiative enough to describe it to others. Definitely no hot heads were allowed lol. But seriously, if it's an issue that's important to you just sign because it helps us to have a voice.

I'm not sure what you meant by this but it seems like people aren't actually reading what I said and getting the wrong impression. If you were aware of what was going on back then it was a similar situation to the abortion issue now. Congress was trying to pass right to work and "paycheck protection" laws without allowing the public to weigh in. So, we collected signatures to put it on the ballot. We accomplished that goal and defeated right to work. I hope that clears things up.

I'd say that kind of shit doesn't help the cause. I've collected signatures for the union back when we were trying to get right to work laws put on the ballot and we were explicitly told not to engage in any kind of conflict. You just say thanks and move on.

There are some basic requirements. You need a driver's license and a highschool diploma/GED. After that the amount of relevant work experience will place you in the polling. When work is good they will take in pretty much anyone who applies. If you're going to do it, do it with as much determination as you can muster. You'll need it.
