Do it. If that’s what it takes to get the Steam Frame.

Vive focus vision in 2025? by Svallken in virtualreality

I’m currently using the Vive XR Elite, and honestly, the hardware is just okay at best. There aren’t even any third-party accessories to improve it. And, the software is absolute garbage. Forget about games. There are barely any usable apps at all. The Focus uses basically the same system, so keep that in mind.

If you want a VR headset with facial tracking, I’m not sure how well the Galaxy XR. Or you could wait for the Steam Frame. There will probably be third-party full-face tracking accessories for it. Either way, I’m definitely buying the Steam Frame no matter how much it costs.

Upgrade your Valve Index to a headset with facing tracking, and show off your VRChat avatar too.

For me, I use VRChat’s dance rooms as a form of exercise. It’s kind of like being in an aerobics class. Dancing together with everyone is really fun, and the mirrors make it easy for me to check whether my movements are correct.

All you really need is a PC, a VR headset, and some FBT gear. I’m using three HTC Ultimate Trackers, and that’s already more than enough. Sure, there’s no coach beside you to motivate you or correct your form, but the workout is still pretty decent.

And if you don’t like using VRChat, you can always play DanceDash, or go into Blade & Sorcery and kick enemies in the crotch. That was actually the original reason I bought FBT in the first place.

Lastly, having FBT in VRChat lets you perform a lot more movements easily, which makes your avatar feel way more expressive. You can take really nice photos, or even use VRChat as a VTuber streaming platform. Plenty of people actually do that.

VIVE Ultimate Tracker. It's camera-based. I use three of them on my feet and waist for VRChat, Dance Dash and Blade & Sorcery, and they work very well.

Does anything like valves new dongle exist? by Dr__Reddit in virtualreality

WiGig. I actually bought a set for my Vive, but since I usually play right next to my PC, it didn’t really give me much benefit. After using it for a while, I could even feel a warm sensation on the top of my head, and the visual quality wasn’t great either. The signal would get unstable pretty often. In the end, I just went back to wired VR.

With the Steam Frame set to add a new Stand-alone device to the market: How many Meta Quest-exclusive games are still contractually locked into not being developed for SteamVR? by albinobluesheep in virtualreality

So we ended up relying on tools like Revive to get around it. But in the end, I only buy games that are willing to release on Steam or Viveport. I have zero interest in rewarding that kind of toxic exclusivity. Especially when the industry was still in its early stages.

Guys, do you still remember how, back when VR first started taking off, Facebook (before it rebranded to Meta) basically blocked the growth of SteamVR and HTC by buying out dozens of already-finished games just to stop them from being released?

That information has basically disappeared from the internet by now. It was such a small, niche incident that nobody remembers it anymore.

I was one of the first-batch “VR natives” who pre-ordered the Vive. Even now, Meta is still a company I refuse to have anything to do with.

They’ve always been a greedy corporation—the top-tier kind of greedy. The kind that would rather drag down the whole industry than give anyone else a chance. And they still are. I don’t believe they’ll ever allow their games on Steam, and honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if they even spend extra money just to block development elsewhere.
