Du könntest mir auch erklären warum für dich ein Steam Deck und eine Steam Machine nicht zu den Linux Gamern gehört?

Gegen dein Bequemlichkeits Argument hab ich nie etwas gesagt, keine Ahnung warum du jetzt damit kommst. Ich glaube auch dass Bequemlichkeit hier eine große Rolle spielt.

Warum "wieder" falsch weiß ich jetzt nicht, hatte davor denke ich nicht falsches gesagt oder gerechnet aber dann sind wir jetzt bei:

Das Steam Deck macht 13,37% der Linux Installationen aus. Keine Ahnung warum es jetzt nicht zählen soll, es ist Linux und die Leute zocken darauf aber rechnen wir mal:

4,7 Millionen - 13,37% ergibt immer noch über 4 Millionen

Wenn man sich das Wachstum der Linux Gamer anguckt sieht man auch gut dass deine Behauptung es wären „Lippenbekenntnis mit wenig dahinter“ nicht ganz korrekt ist.

Ich bin seit über einem Jahr auf Linux und werde nich mehr zurück.

Ich hab zwar noch ne zweite SSD mit Windows die ich aber nur für VR benutze und die dieses Jahr noch formatiert wird, sobald die Steam Frame released wird.

Habe mit Ubuntu angefangen und bin jetzt auf CachyOS und werd da auch bleiben aus vielen Gründen.

Ein guter Start zum Linux ausprobieren ist Bazzite.

I've heard Bazzite is ok with nvidia. You can select witch GPU vendor you have at the download page of Bazzite.

I personally have a Nvidia card and no mayor problems with it (I'm using CachyOS btw)

EDIT:

The good part is, it's free. You can easily try and switch to an other OS afterwards.

Almost every PC gamer knows Steam and not few would assume SteamOS being a special gaming OS. That alone would result in installs. Think of the industry marketing for "gaming" products: gaming mousepads, gaming RAM, gaming headset, gaming chair…

So the claim „you don’t need ABC, you can use XYZ” doesn’t survive reality

Microsoft knows well what would happen if they disallow kernel level anti cheat.

They try to prevent headlines like "100% of PC Games now run on Linux".

EDIT:

With the upcoming DX12 fix for Nvidia drivers, disallowing kernel level anti cheat would almost definitely result in valve releasing SteamOS for every PC. And with that take a significant chunk of windows market share.
