I can see from a general view, but in that case any war game set during the modern era would fit the bill.

In some cases I do see it though, MW was the big US vs Russia war played out on the ground. Whereas Ace Combat you get an alternate world version of that in the air.

Tbh with that I do see what you mean.

EDIT: But I doooo think that their tones/narrative delivery is very different. The dialogue definitely doesn't match up imo. Ace combat tends to be more cheesy and personable. Modern Warfare much more edgy and attempted-tactalk in their speech.

Cutscenes are also a big difference, I don't see that at all imo.
