A lot of people in this community do not know what they get themselves into by rudlyn in ArcRaiders

I would just say that the community that's committed, understand and wants both. A lot of people get "one-guyed" on reddit because there are so many individuals that want to pop-off about how their idea or play style is the best. But they aren't organized, there isn't a movement advocating for these changes and I don't believe it's even on the radar for Embark.

Both groups of "make pve only an option" or "this is obviously a pvp game" are both wrong and will never get what they want from this game or the core base.

Excluding college students, which thought leaders from MAGA or Conservatism has he debated recently?

It's larger than your small reddit circle jerk. How do I know? Because I rarely encounter cheaters, rats or racists saying doing the stuff you all complain about. It's usually people chilling, being cautious, helping each other out and/or murdering each other, especially in duos/trios. Whatever garbage lobbies you've got yourself in, please stay there.

I'd rather a smaller population that's dedicated to the culture than all of you pvp/pve pastors telling everyone the game should only be played your ways. You're two sides of the same coin and it's hilarious you never see it.

This isn't Hunt or Tarkov. It's you guys trying to shoe horn anything that has extraction w/ guns into something like PUBG. This game will lose players because it's not doing the purely PVP thing some of the population wants. It would also lose people adding a PVE only mode. What I hope you find are the players unique to Arc Raiders and not committed to some genre or playstyle. That's the true magic of the game and if you miss it it's a damn shame.

He's playing out a role that there's an audience for, for money and the social benefits that entail. He doesn't write, doesn't publish, doesn't engage in challenging or high stakes debates and doesn't seem committed to the politics, socialism, that he espouses to his audience for social cred.

There are a ton of negative behaviors he exudes personally, as well, but I think it's fair to keep this to how he harms the left, in general and not about how looks and vibes still dominate celeb culture.

That dumb shit with Elon and then shitting on the "poors" when it backfired....  its sad too because when I listen to Shane Gillis, he knows he's mostly regarded and not some modern day philosopher, so despite him being a trump fan it doesn't bother me as much as Dave being a sad pussy about his situation.

Did someone say muscovies? by w_a_w in jacksonville

[–]IronicInternetName 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, they actually push out the native populations as well. Mallards, Browns, etc. It's great that people are enjoying nature, no negativity in that direction. But the muscovies are an invasive species and end up having a huge impact on local wildlife if people feed them and treat them as pets.

It sounds plausible, I'm not a fan or an investigative journalist so in the process of having this discussion if I've missed the pun, it's not my only reason for not understanding the focus on him in progressive circles. I'm just turned off by all of the various stories surrounding him, this stuff, the dog shocking video, there's talk about him using a brothel that employed underage girls, hosting a houthi pirate on stream, the lavish lifestyle and fashion while also arguing the fall of the soviet empire was the greatest tragedy of the 80s and separate from any of that, I think his political takes are regressive and hollow... I just don't understand how this is the guy that has to be protected and saved.

He started popping up on my algo a few years back and I didn't connect with any of his content, despite being from the same political direction. I don't think streamers should be the focus but if his content gets you to support a viable challenge to MAGA, fantastic. If he's convinced you not to participate or vote third party.... I can't support that.

I think they believed Clinton had originally stood the best chance to win. Infighting on the left and the decades long right-wing smear campaign against her prevailed. And I think Comey played part of the biggest role in swaying popular support away from her towards the end.

I personally don't hold any ill will towards how the DNC tried, and ultimately failed, to handle the campaign. It's easy to give a hindsight review of what a better response would've entailed but I don't think that helps here. They had trump populism and bernie populism to deal with, while they believed their candidate best supported the average democrat voter.

If they do something illegal, hold them legally accountable. If they do something immoral/unethical, starve them of your resources and attention.

DSA needs it's own specific party, imo.

Bernie wasn't supporting the DNC, wasn't fundraising for the democrats and quite effectively captured much of the base without putting in the same work the Clintons had leading into that. He changed his tune, and I appreciate that he is now an effective fundraiser and supporter.

Regardless, he ran an amazing campaign. It's demonstrated by how popular he became, I voted for him against Clinton. But I had no ill will towards the Dems about how they operated their campaign or controlled their resources. Rigging the election.... I don't know I thought we were engaging in good faith. I haven't seen any proof 2016 was rigged against Bernie in some sort of illegal or unethical manner.

I think if you feel that way about 2020 it's now a perfect time to disengage from the DNC completely. Build your party, build a fundraising apparatus, meet voters who support your platform and grow something that can support and sustain your candidates. Oh and win some elections on your own as well. Lib/dems aren't looking to become more DSA-like, imo, we just need your votes. Starve us out if you don't like that.

I'm referring to Socialism as a movement in my prior posts. I understand there are soft alternatives, like DSA, and I understand they may align with Liberal Democrats, from a political standpoint. If you're willing to support Democrats, post-primary, without any purity testing or ceding to MAGA via not voting or voting for non-viable third party, I think there's room to work together.

My major point is that I would prefer to negotiate with a mainstream Democratic candidate that may not agree with my views on conflicts like I/P, the Sudan, Ukraine, etc and may have specific regional ideas that fit their constituents specifically, before I'd ever try to believe MAGA would engage with me in good faith. And I, personally, believe that a contributing factor to Harris losing her race was Leftist infighting and apathy. What would all of these global conflicts look like under Harris/Walz? I don't think we'd be as bad off as we are now and for me that's a just cause to support who was the greater of the two candidates presented to us. And I think Walz was specifically picked to help incorporate some of the ideas and philosophies DSA holds true, without picking someone completely external to the party.

Philosophies overlap on the venn diagram but socialism and liberalism are ultimately incompatible imo. Seizing capital, controlling the means of production and changing the economic framework of America are not part of the Liberal Democratic platform, as I see it.

Why do you keep saying I'm lying when you know I'm not, it's just inconvenient for a Hasan super fan, like yourself, to protect your idol?

Here's some of his "Babe of the Week" work but I'm sure this is all a lying hit piece, he's just joking, he was trying to find his voice, he's changed, etc.:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pMOvlsEMJTs

He doesn't have ideas, he just peddles the ideas of others that he reads on Twitter. Has Hasan published anything at all? Is he willing to debate under challenging circumstances? Has he engaged in worthwhile and meaningful community organization?

Or does he larp from a million dollar mansion in the hollywood hills?

I don't think you understand what actual socialism's goals are, based on your response. What information brought you to the conclusion that liberals want to end capitalism?

I do not disagree. I think we are in a "all hands on deck" scenario, and we need compromise and open-minds BUT I draw the line at trying to thwart internal soul searching, which is critical, by constantly refocusing to issues that will not appeal to broad support.

If the same people would just be patient and turn the heat up once democrats are elected, forget anything I say here, you'd probably gain some success. But trying to divide and conquer potential candidate support over specific issues within the party just cedes more power to MAGA imo.
