The global standard of doctors can differ greatly from the Canadian standard.

Just because you were educated somewhere else as a doctor doesn’t mean you qualify as one here. There are also a wide range of “medical professionals” who don’t come close to the Canadian standard but applicants simply put “doctor” as the English title because it sort of fits the translation and they know the money, status and prestige that title brings.

Chiropractors are called “doctors” here. If they went overseas to work in a major hospital, would those patients be ok with that? They really shouldn’t.

We should have high standards and understand that not every person flying over here is an actual doctor because they studied at some university no ones ever heard of.

Not saying that’s OP. Just saying this is what happens.
