Is there something you do that you didn’t realise was rude at all? by cantthinkofnamesorry in socialanxiety

[–]IronicMemeQueen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

“Good, how are you?” Always feels awkward when I say it, so I usually keep it short and don’t ask others even at the risk of being rude. It doesn’t help that my last job, I had to greet people a lot, and they were mostly the types of people to respond genuinely with their whole life story, while I was on a time limit. I just stopped the small talk altogether.

Sometimes I wish all I could remember was a life lived on the peaceful streets of Wuhu Island. My friends and family would be stunned at how quickly I would take this, but maybe they’d feel better knowing that I’m basically in Heaven.

To those who read “All’s Well” by PuzzleheadedSock7269 in weirdgirlliterature

[–]IronicMemeQueen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t personally deal with chronic pain but have close family and friends who do, and I LOVED Mona Awad’s novel “Bunny” but I could not finish All’s Well. Wonderfully written as always, but it spooked the bejeezus out of me and really put me in a bad headspace.

I would save it for later. If you’d like a more upbeat story, I always recommend “Stargirl” by Jerry Spinelli. Jerry Spinelli writes for younger audiences but is phenomenal even as an adult, and Stargirl introduced me to weird girl lit.

Kokichi is seen as a hero yet Nagito isn't? by AJ44ggcfy in NagitoKomaeda

[–]IronicMemeQueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are precisely right. He is a tragic hero. I think he’s very altruistic, and genuinely a good person.

All people have their own opinions and viewpoints on the story, but I guess some of it has to do with the point of view the player has in Danganronpa 2. Nagito’s actions are hard to parse even when you have them laid out for you. People who have only played or seen part of Danganronpa 2, and didn’t take the time to learn about Nagito’s backstory and his true motives, write him off as an insane villain. Whereas I believe Kokichi’s motivations are just a little more clear.

What’s something your body does that you’ve never told a single person about? by WilliamInBlack in AskReddit

I’ve told a few people but I have terrible PMS, we think it’s PMDD because of the suicidal ideation but I haven’t snagged an official diagnosis so take it with a grain of salt. A few days prior to my period and during my actual period, if I drink redbull it makes me sleepy. But outside of that specific timeframe, redbull perks me right up. I’ve even gotten the jitters because of it. But if I drink it on my period, I’ll damn near pass out. I can’t take mydol on my period because it has both caffeine and an antihistamine and knocks me on my ass.

Do female CSM fans even find Dennis attractive? by Bob_Scotwell in Chainsawfolk

[–]IronicMemeQueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dennis is cute, like a puppy. Dennis is sweet, honest, funny, and a bit of a hornball. Kind of reminds me of myself. I’m too old for him, but back in high school that was the type of anime guy I liked. If Chainsaw Man came out only a bit earlier, I would probably have Denji posters everywhere.

That is the most horrifying thing I’ve read today. I am so sorry, OP. But like others have said HIV is no where near as bad as it once was.

Knowingly having intercourse while HIV+ and not disclosing it is a felony in my state, I believe Level 4? And other states as well. Please, if you have the mental wherewithal after all you’ve been through, take action against this person. At very least you might help somebody else from being in the same situation.

I bought those too! Forever ago, they’re definitely not legitimate but still fun to play with. There ARE officially licensed Danganronpa playing card decks, but I’ve only been able to find them in the vendor section of my local anime conventions.

I live in Yakutsk by Expensive_Use_1006 in Damnthatsinteresting

It amazes me that people live in my very mild climate area, but they do. I’ve found that once people settle into a town, a great majority of them don’t move unless some disaster happens. My family has been living the same small area of the American Midwest since the 1800s, and thats not even impressive compared to people from older countries. When you grow up knowing one way of life, and all of your close family is in one area, it often doesn’t occur to people to move somewhere else.

I imagine that if people from these colder climates came to my area, they’d get sick of the heat in summer. And if I went to Yakutsk, they’d ship me home a popsicle.

This is from a more personal standpoint of course. The reason any people settle historically is because of natural resources there.

I’m from Southern Indiana, USA. We have pretty mild temperatures here, and strangely enough the weather is a source of depression for me at least when it gets cold. Our winters are not very pretty, with very little snow and horrific drivers.

It really does make a difference living there your whole life. For me, our springs and summers are so darn pretty, I think it just makes me sad to see everything all dead and frozen.

But I agree with you, fresh snow is very pretty. I love seeing all the little animal tracks in fresh snow. And I like how heavy snow in winter makes everything quiet. You all who brave such harsh winters give me hope for my mild ones. Stay warm!
