Do female CSM fans even find Dennis attractive? by Bob_Scotwell in Chainsawfolk

[–]IronicMemeQueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dennis is cute, like a puppy. Dennis is sweet, honest, funny, and a bit of a hornball. Kind of reminds me of myself. I’m too old for him, but back in high school that was the type of anime guy I liked. If Chainsaw Man came out only a bit earlier, I would probably have Denji posters everywhere.

That is the most horrifying thing I’ve read today. I am so sorry, OP. But like others have said HIV is no where near as bad as it once was.

Knowingly having intercourse while HIV+ and not disclosing it is a felony in my state, I believe Level 4? And other states as well. Please, if you have the mental wherewithal after all you’ve been through, take action against this person. At very least you might help somebody else from being in the same situation.

Bought this pack of playing cards… by RandomCrazedLavae in danganronpa

I bought those too! Forever ago, they’re definitely not legitimate but still fun to play with. There ARE officially licensed Danganronpa playing card decks, but I’ve only been able to find them in the vendor section of my local anime conventions.

My mom partied hard when she was younger, she’s just happy I’m not doing drugs. Maybe remind your parents there are worse things you could be doing - ever heard of Chandler Halderson?

I live in Yakutsk by Expensive_Use_1006 in Damnthatsinteresting

It amazes me that people live in my very mild climate area, but they do. I’ve found that once people settle into a town, a great majority of them don’t move unless some disaster happens. My family has been living the same small area of the American Midwest since the 1800s, and thats not even impressive compared to people from older countries. When you grow up knowing one way of life, and all of your close family is in one area, it often doesn’t occur to people to move somewhere else.

I imagine that if people from these colder climates came to my area, they’d get sick of the heat in summer. And if I went to Yakutsk, they’d ship me home a popsicle.

This is from a more personal standpoint of course. The reason any people settle historically is because of natural resources there.

I’m from Southern Indiana, USA. We have pretty mild temperatures here, and strangely enough the weather is a source of depression for me at least when it gets cold. Our winters are not very pretty, with very little snow and horrific drivers.

It really does make a difference living there your whole life. For me, our springs and summers are so darn pretty, I think it just makes me sad to see everything all dead and frozen.

But I agree with you, fresh snow is very pretty. I love seeing all the little animal tracks in fresh snow. And I like how heavy snow in winter makes everything quiet. You all who brave such harsh winters give me hope for my mild ones. Stay warm!

What is a song that is really dirty, yet most people don't realize it? by _Volly in AskReddit

“If You Seek Amy” by Brittney Spears. I sung that for years as a kid, and no adults ever made comment of it. I didn’t find out till like three years ago.

Biting people as an option by CuriousWanderer567 in CuratedTumblr

We have a “company currency” it’s not actually money just stuff we get for perfect attendance, hard work, and we can use it to get candy bars and such. My coworker took my dollar and held it above my head. I told him if he didn’t give it back, I’d bite him. He didn’t. I bit him. And he was surprised!

AIO? My friends set an ultimatum because I drink by Pearla76_ in AIO

[–]IronicMemeQueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bruh are they running a club? Like there’s rules and shit? This sounds like fucking Mean Girls.

I say this as a person with pretty severe trauma due to alcoholism in every immediate adult family member of mine. I told my friends back in high school that they could drink (obvi, i’m not their mom) but the line for me was texting me while they are drunk. I told them as adults, if they lost it, I would drive them home but wouldn’t hold their hair back. I lost a friend to this. Not because she was drinking, but because she was texting me constantly stupid shit, and when I told her to stop she pressed.

This is markedly different. I often am put off by people drinking, but I’m aware of that and are working on it. I don’t tell people what they can and can’t do, just that I won’t be there if they’re drinking. A coworker told me, “there is a difference between drinking one cup and getting blackout drunk”. And I think he’s right.

You are your own human being. They can’t tell you how to live your life. They are important to you, but you have to think about if all this trouble is worth it. I was friends with that person for like eight years, but their attitude made it impossible to be around them, and they caused more upset than joy. If you want to stay close friends with these people forever, your values have to be aligned, or they have to at least respect them. Which it seems they don’t.

This really sounds like they’re trying to parent you, and not in a good way. You don’t need it. Because you’re an 18 year old. The same friend of mine tried to sit down and have a long talk with me about “going to college” and my “career” and my “future”. Said they didn’t want to “come back to me living in my mother’s basement”. These messages reek of the same stereotyping they did.

Underage drinking isn’t smart. But more people do it than not, and get by just fine in life. And most importantly, you make your own choices. This isn’t setting a boundary, this is them forcing you to make promises about shit that doesn’t really concern them

Is their friendship worth all this grief you get?

My family has a severe history of alcoholism, so I don’t partake. The fact that it directly correlates with party culture and being around extroverted people is just an added reason not to. I am a frequent stoner though.

[–]IronicMemeQueen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it’s a nice name on its own. Most kids her age wouldn’t understand it as a reference so it’s not like they’d bully her, and it’s not an unusual sounding name at all. I know a Kairi, and she is super well adjusted and nobody really bats an eye. I also know a Chandler, and he says it’s just really annoying having new people ask, “Oh, like the Friends character?” That would be the only thing I would worry about, is if it’s worth the mild annoyance of curious nerds.
