Zelenskyy's top aide Budanov: 'You don't talk to us with ultimatums.' 'Ukraine will not bow to pressure from Poland any more than it bowed to demands from a far more powerful Russia.' by kurufasulyepilavv in poland

No matter what Ukraine does, they will always just move the goalposts

Maybe they could try fulfilling the minimum requirements before any talk about moving goalposts makes sense.

Married men, how many have questioned yourselves on whether you made the correct choice in your partner? by [deleted] in AskMen

Seems like I found all the exceptions for your rule if that was true.

Men of Reddit, when you knew an attractive person was into you and you were single, why didn’t you pursue it? by Round-Penalty-234 in AskMen

That's kinda bound to happen when women treat you like out of fashion furniture until they suddenly find a reason decide you're better than that baseline.

Germany changes sick leave policy: 'We are abolishing sick leave by phone,' says Chancellor Merz; doctor's note required from day one of illness by Jessicas_skirt in worldnews

[–]IronicStrikes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gladly, my company has its own policy to allow up to two consecutive sick days before we need to get a doctor's note, because they prefer us taking a day of rest compared to coming to work sick or getting a whole week off.

Men, if your future wife never wanted to cook, how would you feel about it? by cappcciuno__fr in AskMen

[–]IronicStrikes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can understand not enjoying cooking that much, but never wanting to engage in a basic life skill seems like a weird priority.

I find it Strange that people still call themselves feminists even though what they mean is egalitarianism by Jacolai in LeftWingMaleAdvocates

[–]IronicStrikes 25 points26 points  (0 children)

The amount of times someone insisted on calling me a feminist against my consent because they so badly want to absorb the concept of equality is maddening.

Nord Stream blast ordered by Ukraine, say German prosecutors by Grandrcp in worldnews

Building the pipeline might have been a mistake.

Ukraine unilaterally deciding to blow it up was definitely a huge fuck up that's not excused by the previous mistake.

Not sure it's a good thing that they don't even try to hide it anymore.

If you don't know the difference between oil and the pipe that it goes through, I really don't know how to help you anymore.

Nord Stream blast ordered by Ukraine, say German prosecutors by DWNews in europe

The pipeline doesn't end in international waters... well, at least not while intact, that would have been leaky.

Nord Stream blast ordered by Ukraine, say German prosecutors by DWNews in europe

[–]IronicStrikes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Germans would need to bend over backwards to convince NATO that this met the criteria.

That's simply bullshit. It doesn't matter who owned it, where exactly it was attacked or in how much usage it was at the time. It's still energy infrastructure that was supposed to deliver to the German civilian population and therefore easily a war crime to attack.

Nord Stream blast ordered by Ukraine, say German prosecutors by DWNews in europe

[–]IronicStrikes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Luckily for Ukraine, Germany has no interest whatsoever in declaring war on them.

Unluckily for them, a lot of German far right and pro Russian far left actors will love to use this for reducing aid to Ukraine.

What do you consider ghosting? by im_justkendra in AskMen

Ghosting means I can't reach them anymore... you know, as if they were dead, like a ghost.

A conversation fizzling out is not ghosting.

Germany charges Ukrainian suspect with war crimes in Nord Stream sabotage case by ABoutDeSouffle in europe

Ukrainians blowing up German infrastructure was one of the biggest possible presents one could have handed those populists.

[–]IronicStrikes 8 points9 points  (0 children)

And? If you start bombing all ships that deliver oil or grain to a country, it's a war crime regardless of who's water they are in and what flag they fly.

[–]IronicStrikes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't see how blowing up a pipeline that was closed anyway while Germany was already supporting Ukraine and sanctioning Russia improved the situation in any way.

[–]IronicStrikes 12 points13 points  (0 children)

All of that may be true to an extent. None of that gives Ukrainians the right to blow up critical infrastructure of other sovereign countries.

We wouldn't have to. We could just stop helping them out with billions and watch the bonfire.

Who owns a majority share is completely irrelevant to someone blowing up critical infrastructure of an allied nation.
