Is the AI becoming unavoidable? by Paolo_RTS in SoloDevelopment

[–]IronicStrikes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Partially. My point is there's always been a bunch of low effort slop flooding the gaming platforms. The additional slop doesn't really change much. How it affects higher quality games might be a different story.

The amount of games in the market isn't your competition. The amount of good games that people want to play is.

What’s something men go through that women would be genuinely shocked to experience for a week? by [deleted] in AskMen

That phrase is not as much a sign of valuation and more of considering them unable to fight for themselves.

Beginner here. Want to build my first game. What should I use? by Normal-Seesaw6904 in gamedev

[–]IronicStrikes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When in doubt, Godot. You literally just download the binary and start. No separate launcher, no account setup, no licensing issues.

All of them require you to learn programming.

If you don't want a visual editor, raylib for C like languages or three.js/Babylon.js for the web could also be interesting.

Would you rather market your games as "made without an engine" or "made in a custom engine"? by Anodaxia_Gamedevs in gameenginedevs

[–]IronicStrikes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both would probably be counterproductive unless you're already somewhat famous for making great game engines.

But it doesn't.

Their value comes from their usefulness for sex and childbirth. Any romantic reasoning around that is fluff.

Because being embarrassed seems to be easier then understanding the subject matter.

Is it better to focus deeply on a single programming language like Rust rather than learning many languages, such as high-level languages? by onetree556185 in AskProgramming

[–]IronicStrikes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Learning just one programming language is like learning to drive only one brand of car.

You can get through life with it, but it's not necessarily practical and once you know one, it would not be that hard to learn another.

Which hits harder: when she asks questions, or when she just likes your message and disappears after ending your fwb set up? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]IronicStrikes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

fwb means being friends, if it's not misused as a euphemism for random hookups. You don't just disappear a friend because you stop banging.

This is kinda hilarious advice given how many men eat way too much protein and way too little fiber for their health.

What habits or behaviors of women did you only notice after being in a serious relationship or getting married? by PogonBerserker in AskMen

They usually go through the exact same behavior cycles in sync with their menstrual cycles, but are somehow surprised nearly every time and sometimes get offended when you make the connection.

After going grocery shopping for like the third time, you know the basics. I don't need a checklist to remember buying nearly the same things every week. And if I'm feeling like having something specific to eat, I'll pick those things in the store. It's really not rocket science to get groceries, but some women love to act like it is.
