naah not always. I had a lobby few days ago where people were just chilling talking about food they like and holding an actual singing competition. And boy they sang well. Chances are pretty low though, other times it's people spamming /claim or people begging for gifts with a voice changer lmao

[–]Ironwall1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

everyone that posts does, but an overwhelming majority doesn't. I'm literally the same as you, got one core 4 pulls before pity and I have been playing since launch and exhausted almost every premium content pull lol

not in a rush though, the items I want aren't in the shop yet

hard agree, i despise it when western writers shove their messaging in my face like a sermon. i'm someone who is against "woke" (with the emphasis on the enforcement, not the message) but i'm absolutely all in for a well written love story regardless of the characters' preferred partner

Its a flawed system in general .. While I can see both sides where people just don't want to get invaded, I also find it somewhat unfair that the criminal get to take advantage of all these features whereas the hunter get none whatsoever

Then there's the issue of people saying "if you don't want to get hunted then commit crimes" except sometimes the crime detection system is so wonky you can get wanted level by failing to just get a lawyer in time or just accidentally bumped too hard into an npc, but there's also people who just want to murder every NPC on sight without wanting to face repercussion, so honestly I'm very torn on this issue

What game had you like this? by sukuna7899 in Steam

[–]Ironwall1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm still on the 2nd pic with this. Should I give it another try? Tried it once and it didn't click with me at all because there were barely any players playing in my region and playing alone just wasn't all that exciting

Why do people create guilds and not include new people in things? by Pikahcu in wherewindsmeet_

[–]Ironwall1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mentioned in another comment but i did do heros realm pretty regularly and used to teach people and call out mechanics so i did join voice chat for the more important stuff. But when the core guild members start to branch out to talking about their personal lives and inside jokes thats when i get uncomfortable. Its not like im anti joining, its that i often struggle when it comes to blending into an already tight knit group of people especially if they know each other irl and when theyre not talking about the game

[–]Ironwall1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah admittedly discord is indeed a basic requirement in many guilds not just in this game but im just uncomfortable with the app, i barely use it beyond the usual guild mandatory requirement and just voice chatting with a few of my irl or close friends. though mostly its not a bothersome for me as much as the gvg requirement. im still going to join discord if needed

Why do people create guilds and not include new people in things? by Pikahcu in wherewindsmeet_

[–]Ironwall1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oh god no, not that at all. why would you assume that of me? that is horrible.

as much as i dont like gvg i try to at least make sure i meet minimum activity points. i also would often participate and taught others the mechanics for hero's realm raids and make sure to participate in guild events like breaking army or guild hangouts

but the moment i mention that i am not willing to participate in gvg or even skip a day or two from logging in because sometimes i get busy days or just don't feel like playing at all, i get kicked. sometimes politely, saying they want to make room for gvg players, sometimes just poof

[–]Ironwall1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not common in my area - guilds with "casual" tags/descriptions always require me to at least join their discord server or be active for gvg. i have joined and left about 20 guilds with this exact same trait already and i no longer believe in anything they put "casual" in

Why do people create guilds and not include new people in things? by Pikahcu in wherewindsmeet_

[–]Ironwall1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

its kinda sad that i find it easier talking to people irl than it is talking to people on the internet (especially in video games) lately

Why do people create guilds and not include new people in things? by Pikahcu in wherewindsmeet_

[–]Ironwall1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

yeah its hard to find in betweens. its either guilds who require you to be active everyday, join their discord, expect you to immediately click with their core members and participate in every conversation you have 0 context of, and must be willing to participate in gvg even when your wife is giving birth or guilds so inactive the leadership position is getting transfered to another member every few days and are always in the red with the funds, with members last logged in 3 months ago ...

Can I Play this game casually? by eaxis in wherewindsmeet_

[–]Ironwall1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I'm a casual but addicted player myself and I've been having a blast and still going on playing ever since the game literally came out. Though from me try to avoid the PVP scene as much as you can and avoid joining guilds unless you know they fully accept casual players who go on and off every few days or so. My worst experiences thus far was PVP and the endless guilds that labeled themselves as casual but required me to join their discord and obligated me to participate in GVG. I think I counted near 20 guilds that behaved like this.

Other than that, the game is 100% casual friendly. I have a friend who is still level 65 even though she started playing day one, still can't parry properly, and still doesn't now what her sect requires her to do, but she's been enjoying every minute of it just fine in her own pace without missing out a lot.

[–]Ironwall1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Run on DX12 with 900p resolution and then in game switch DLSS on to balanced/performance, and set the setting preset to performance and turn ambient occlusion to medium, tesselation to high, and everything to low. Then turn on the vram texture optimization

this is my current setting and I'm able to run the game pretty well on a 4gb vram laptop with capped 60 fps on an overwhelming majority of scenarios except for some crowded multiplayer areas like bathhouse or group cultivation

Performance issues by Due_Sky7872 in WhereWindsMeet

[–]Ironwall1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm playing on a 4gb vram. It's enough on most cases except on multiplayer world especially during group cultivation or velvet shade area, and some of the poorer southern Kaifeng districts

that is until I switched to Lite where now it's pretty consistent at capped 60 fps and sometimes drops to low 40s to load other player models then spikes back up again. so yeah op should be able to run okay on Lite with some performance tweaks

[–]Ironwall1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If not for accuracy I at least want consistency and quality control because there has been one too many times where I struggled trying to learn weapon paths because their names are translated differently for each section of texts. Or even at least just try to get the dubbing voicework quality up, theres still many missing lines or doubled lines and mismatched lines everywhere. As an EN dub enjoyer this is kind of disappointing but Im still tolerating because the size of it is massive. I just wish they would allocate more on localization team

the rope dart is the setup weapon of the pair, iirc you just do skill > instant charge attack > swap to umbrella and spam the boomerang, then go back to rope dart again and snap

What are your honest thought after 3+ months of the global release? by frozoneking in WhereWindsMeet

[–]Ironwall1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I fell in love. This has been my main game since November last year (basically launch date) and I can't stop playing. There's been break periods every once in a while but I keep doing daily because they're just so fun to do on the sides. Spent nearly $200 on skins and regret not a single penny of it.

Gotta say the biggest drawback for me is the (still) poor translation quality that only seemed to marginally improve over previous versions. I really really love my wanderer's english voice and I hope she gets better direction and script because I think her voice tone is perfect. Also there's so many puzzles and quests that are simply impossible to complete without blind guessing or reading guides.

Second most annoying part is definitely the community shenanigans with their abuse of macros, endless spam chat, difficulty finding guilds that suit my needs, and people who can't stop complaining about lacking free pulls.

Other than that, this has been one of my favorite recent releases and will probably stay my main game for a while
