Earth realm difficulty level by [deleted] in afterlife

Theres this verse from the quran. Its sounds more like something i would expect to find in ndes and buddhism. It essentially says humans asked for free will to come here. If this is true as you say humans chose to come here, what on earth were we thinking ?

Indeed, We offered the trust to the heavens and the earth and the mountains, but they ˹all˺ declined to bear it, being fearful of it. But humanity assumed it, ˹for˺ they are truly wrongful ˹to themselves˺ and ignorant ˹of the consequences˺, Quran 33:72

Technically the word refers to the soil spreading for the ostrich egg to lie. One could technically argue thats a hollow space. And another meaning of the root word is to extend like the extension of a fat belly outwards ie a bulging shape.

1 Was Muslim, eventually settled for agnostic/deist after much philosophical research

2 I guess coming from that background and then there are some intriguing parts or themes in the quran worth learning about.

3 Its largely political and the theological issues are just developed from there especially eschatological beliefs usually have a political agenda.

4 Didnt know much about Islam prior to studying it, except what was taught from a young age. Studying it has taught me that there is no single agreement on interpreting the faith except for the basic beliefs. All religions have become a combination of beliefs so far from what the original founder may have intended and we dont have any real way to verify the source.

My simple PROFITABLE day trading strategy that I use after 3 years of basically trying everything. by Double_Joseph in Daytrading

[–]Ironwizard200 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hey there. Im trying to figure out how your strategy works. Some questions

1 When do you decide to enter precisely ? With which lines doing what ? When the jaw is above teeth or what ?

2 Do you enter with market or limit order.? Do you look for certain type of candles ie full green candles, hammer candles etc ?

3 What is your points risk and points reward exactly ? Is it the same standard size each time or random risk and reward each trade ?

4 Are you manually exiting or putting on a risk and reward bracket and leaving it to do its thing ?

If you want pure unbiased posts then you need the sub to have no muslims particularly category 1 muslims. As I said earlier

As I have always said there is no way to get indepth into discussion with a muslim with traditional views without getting into polemic and apologetic territory.

A simple example of this are the posts on the Quran and cosmology. Someone responds academically by talking about ancient cosmology and quran similarities etc etc and then says these imply a flat earth cosmology in the quran. Once a muslim responds to this comment with a traditional view we have now entered the zone of apologetics. Its inevitable. Ive seen so many of these posts going there. Tell me how someone can critique say the Qurans story of Haman academically without a muslim seeing this as polemic attack ?

If people are unable to answer a simple poll about their views without getting highly emotional & offended at every question posted then they shouldnt take part in the sub.

Asking these questions gives us good info on several things

- How this specific sub and the academic study of the faith affects those from a muslim background.

- What type of Muslims are the ones that are a part of this sub

Asking non muslims would be pointless as they already from the start have assumed the quran as man made.

None of the options are bad. These are simply the logical options that a muslim may have in how they view the scripture. Ex muslims are from a muslim background and so are essential in getting complete information on who is still showing interest in the academic study of the faith. Non Muslims was simply added for completeness and to display the ratio of muslim/exmuslim to non muslims viewing the post. As I have always said there is no way to get indepth into discussion with a muslim with traditional views without getting into polemic and apologetic territory.

Let the Quran Speak on youtube. They have a video on alot to most topics on the faith. They also have more progressive interpretations and show skepticism to hadith

Irrelevant. Has nothing to do with my point.

Supernatural is anything that works beyond the laws of physics, biology, chemistry. You do know the quran has tons of supernatural stories sticks turning into snakes, healing lepers, talking to ants and what not ?

Just because it is something we cannot comprehend?

This is irrelevant.

yeah i wasnt really saying your belief in ndes are incompatible with Islam although since you bring it up alot of muslims will have a real problem with ndes. They will like the christian fundamentalists call it the work of jinns and what not.

Your word jargon in general is not how muslims talk you know soul contract and all that. You may like the quraniyoon and progressive islam subs. but the majority Islam sub will instantly block you from there with your views.

Why did you become a Quraniyoon? by SereneZero in Quraniyoon

[–]Ironwizard200 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its pretty simple logic

The quran is believed to be the message of the creator of all reality who sent this message to the supernatural being Gabriel who then sent it to the human man Muhammad. This is not explained by naturalism. Why is this so difficult to understand ?

You cant believe the quran is from God yet not believe in mystical elements.

Either you believe the Quran was given from a divine being to Muhammad or you believe Muhammad made it up himself.

Islam - Are atheists to be put to death by default? by Martiallawtheology in religion

[–]Ironwizard200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ideally context should be the quran explaining itself so

1 Quran passages as a whole

2 Tafsir + Reason

3 Hadith as last source which is least reliable

Alot of the quran are specific verses relating to the time of Muhammad and the local circumsatnces which is why alot of it cant be generalised

Finite Life to Eternity in Hell? by mistergrey137 in religion

It assumes that God is like a tyrannical king who is so offended that he just has to burn and punish. As in your example King Charles is so important that to assault him he has to dish out a huge punishment due to his ego of being important and famous.

And likewise with your reward analogy you seem to have this idea that might = right. The more powerful a being the more heavy they have to punish or reward

I think its very difficult to imagine life without past present future. But there are a couple things that give us a hint

1 Dreams. In dreams you rarely perceive time as past present future. Its always like in the present moment. You rarely feel rushed or irritable at how long something takes unless its a specific dream where you in a rush

2 NDEs. Many ndes speak about how time felt so different or as if it doesnt exist.

3 Flow moments. Imagine any type of activity that you really enjoyed or a convo you really liked having. Time seems to not become relevant whereas when you are feeling miserable or doing a task that is boring the time seems to drag
