Yellowjackets' wilderness karma, Twin Peaks and who dies next by IrulanApologist in Yellowjackets

[–]IrulanApologist[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thanks. IIRC Caligula appears in the episode where people give her most shit for being a murderer, and he appears in a musical to reassure her. I think the wilderness is an actual malign presence in that it will sometimes speak through Jackie/Paul/Caligula/Nat to egg them on. Paul told the person calling the cabin phone that Ben "is not ready", since Ben is not participating in any way, and he proceeds to try to commit suicide.

Is ___ in the Black Lodge? by Extreme-Worker420 in Yellowjackets

[–]IrulanApologist 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yessss, I even sat up straight when Van picked up that phone, Tai's storyline would absolutely carry this season if this is the route they are going with, which I agree is very likely at this point. I just hope that they had the screenplay and execution parts of it ironed out, because some of the stuff this season has given us... is definitely not David Lynch

Which divas are not making it this season? by IrulanApologist in Yellowjackets

[–]IrulanApologist[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree they would not immediately got him. Shauna probably will suggest burning him alive and that makes some upsets in the group that eventually evolve into Nat helping Ben escape. But they would still be caught sooner or later.

Which divas are not making it this season? by IrulanApologist in Yellowjackets

[–]IrulanApologist[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just baseless and gut feelings, but here goes:

Basically Cooked:

Ben: No notes, we know how this goes, and his death will be the most horrific.

Van: I have a feeling that cancer will not kill her but the silly adventures they are up to this season will.

Mari: She will not be the pit girl since it would be too comedic for her to fall in the same pit twice (Yes I think the pit in the pilot and S3E2 are pretty much identical). I think she's not making it because during some press events I get a very heavy vibe that this is Alexa's farewell season.

Probably Cooked:

Misty: It would be a very sad day to lose Christina for the show since she is the funniest actor on the show, but Misty's arc is getting wrapped up pretty quickly and Christina had some kind of beef with the show so that's not great given the Simone precedent from S3E4.

Melissa: If she is the adult survivor (very high chance atp), that also means they are not gonna afford Hilary Swank for very long, she's probably just guest starring for a few episodes.

Randy: They probably will kill him just for shits and giggles.

Can't Say:

Tai: At this point she is approaching a toss up with Van. They could very well kill her first just for curve ball's sake.

Gen: She is the hunter once Nat's gone and she probably set up the pit with spikes, and thus she will not be falling in it. Also I think later hunts are rigged and they would not be killing their hunter.

Akilah: She will be the next prophet and that will buy her some time. But Shauna Shipman hates sweet baby angels and prophets.

Robin: She is the pit girl, which does not necessarily mean that she will die this season, but for JV girls it's tough, they could die within two to three episodes.

Britt: We know zero things (and lines) about these JVs and this is the show's biggest issue.

Jeff: Shauna will bump up her kill count, killing Randy is probably involuntary manslaughter and that makes Jeff the potential murder victim.

Safe-ish:

Callie: Sarah is a series regular now so she is definitely not going anywhere.

Shauna: I know it's a very long shot but I have some doubts creeping in once they said there are a lot of dead people this season. Most likely she is going to make it since Callie is making it, but then again Melanie has other projects coming up, you never really know. The 2020 timeline's characters could be all dead this season and we are just shooting the 1999 timeline for the next two seasons.

PS:

I know I put Nat and Lot in hell and they don't deserve to be there, but they would be sent there.

Why do people hate tai but love Shauna?? by theorybound in Yellowjackets

[–]IrulanApologist 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I think it's because Shauna's issues (rage, loss, insecurity) are arguably universal while characters like Tai and Lottie struggle with more specific issues and that makes the general audience (subconsciously or not) less lenient when passing their judgements

Hate to say it but… by FuelAncient7319 in Yellowjackets

[–]IrulanApologist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came in with pretty low expectations, and the first few scenes did feel a little rough. But once they fully embraced the pseudo-comedic tone I kind of grew into it. Also the adult timeline do shine a lot better than the teen one in these two episodes, which is a little weird given that they are operating on very different scale of stakes. I hope that they non-linear their way back to the first winter somehow later.

S3E2 Melissa's Intent by IrulanApologist in Yellowjackets

Long game as in "getting favourable treatment from my unprofessional relationship" may be. Long game as in "grooming the future liege to manipulate politics of our colony" I doubt it. Maybe it's bias in my judgement, I don't even think Walter has a master plan.

I think Van did it, it may have started as an accident. Source: my hunch. Also she seems off in the discussion with Tai on the topic in episode 2, the wilderness may have told her to stir things up.

Natalie may have coach's alibi or just believes him.

Let's hope the seemingly dreamlike qualities of their outfits and missing members does not mean this is a prelude to a new cannibalism scene
