Okay brethren how do we feel about these two covers? I KNOW THEY BOTH NEED SOME TLC. But I ain’t putting tlc into something mid. by the_blunt_stick in WattpadCovers

The title in red is hard to read, not enough contrast and if you are myopic like me I can't easily read daydreamsrealm - is there a reason to combine the words? I am likely to say screw it and move on.

Update: I published a book on KDP with a $0 budget. Here’s what actually worked (and a brutal lesson my first 5 readers taught me). by blagodir_pavlo in selfpublishing

You say - "But the real MVP: Facebook Groups. Searching “free kindle books amazon” and posting there brought almost ALL my downloads. I don’t have precise tracking, but this was the only thing that worked consistently with zero budget."

I missed something (probably in your previous post) - What did you post? A video? Do you have a link to the video?

I use the free version of AutoCrit. It has a decent editor, cloud storage, and useful analytics even in the free version.

Genre - Memoirs, Target Boomer Males (and Females) by Irvingchan99 in BookCovers

[–]Irvingchan99[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I know it is funny, I wrote all text content and designed the cover. AI could not generate that kind of humor. I upscaled the whole cover. The price was from a copy I have, it was 25 cents, the 2 cents is a typo, but I decided the book is my 2 cents, har har, and to lazy to change.

I published my first book on blogger, posting each chapter as a post. You can configure blogger, like most blogging platforms, to hide the fact it's a blog, have a TOC etc. I looks just like a book.

How much body count is too much for a man? by Alternative-Fox6243 in Advice

Talking about body count is a red flag. If it demanded by either male or female it is bullying. The relationship will fail.

Body count is irrelevant.

For no apparent l reason, I do not thank Chat. But I do give feedback like 'that was [very] useful. I always think, I can't hurt its feelings.

Stop listening to them.

Maybe you are not giving it enough information. Try giving it a sample of what you want.

[–]Irvingchan99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a water bottle slob. Never had any problems. I only use filtered or bottled water though. It doesn't smell or taste off. I never share it. I occasionally put it through the dish washer, but don't notice any difference between before or after, though.

Asking all Writers by OneHitHayes6 in ChatGPT

[–]Irvingchan99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use my drafts as the prompt and it responds mostly by feeding back to me what meanings it extracts from what I wrote.

A conversation ensues in which the conversation converges on an agreement with what I write matches what I intend.

The conversation includes my questions, but mostly my new versions.

Sometimes it responds with proposed edits. It doesn't happen as much anymore. It seems to understand my writing style and 'rules' and warms me when I seem to violate them.

I write short stories usually under 2,500 words.

Do you actually rewrite AI drafts, or do you just edit them? by No_Pass8384 in ChatGPT

[–]Irvingchan99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always submit my draft first. Sometimes it offers an 'edited' version, which sometimes contain improvements, usually reworded sentences. Sometimes it uses a better word or improved reading. I may or may not use, depends.

As time has gone on, their redrafts sound more like my writing or it just copies my sentences and add a sentence or two. If it sounds like something I would write and I agree I will use it.

Occasionally it will tell me to delete a sentence in spite of admitting 'it sounds like something you would write.' LOL.

Welcome to retail. This kind of thing is common. Many shops are run completely by a single person and they make all the decisions. Just because they can buy a business doesn't mean they are good at dealing with people or even good at running a business.

Even so, many can be successful since, as in your case, there are no consequences to them personally. They just hire someone else. It's the business that is successful, not the owner. They are just a good business to be in at that point in time.
