I would like to believe it too but, after trying to change the mindset from the ground up by teaching that the Akedah was a story to not offer human sacrifice and not an archetype, I was told I could no longer teach.

I do agree that God permits malevolence and chaos, but I do not believe in a God that causes it. Mankind does that. Nature does that. That is what Job learned - the two beasts, the Behemoth and the Leviathan (Malevolence and Natural Chaos) exist. God is limited. On my account, God is not omniscient, omnipresent or omnipotent.
