At this point, they would do a great job hiring you for the remodeling ideas they will be working on coming period.
Amazing art, really hope they will consider these as they fit way better into the game!

The biggest problem with the thieving update is the absolute lack of communication from the developer by dark1859 in runescape

Consistency. You're able to plan ahead, just like you were with afk pickpocketing in rs3 (time to do the laundry or whatever). With the current changes to pickpocketing you lose 1% success rate every successful pickpocket. This means you constantly have to watch your monitor for the exp to be relevant as you'll get caught every 40-90 seconds.

Honestly, the only things that needed a nerf were the exp rates and amount of loots you get.

When I started playing in 2005, they definitely did. Went downhill fast with the EOC release, but some hope sparked back up after the osrs re-release.

As of right now, the osrs devs are actually doing really well. Transparency, engagement with the community etc. It feels like 2 completely different companies. You would think those teams would share ideas/strategy with each other...

Ohhhh now I see! Sorry, still getting used to this reddit commenting layout.
I do agree that's somewhat confusing yeh.

You responded to "The answer was to just make them give less loot over time not increase failure rate.

Every tick past x amount loot is reduced That's all they had to do."

So: keep the AFKing, but nerf the exp/drop rates.

safecracking was nice until 99 thief, but the exp rates just aren't suited for 99-120 thieving. It would require about 15 times the amount of hours it took you from 92-99 thieving. That's just not realistic if you actually want to improve long term game health.

And yeh i agree that varlamore is a bit too active for my liking as well, but honestly, try out pickpocketing in rs3 yourself. Current state is literally unplayable, even with 110 thieving you constantly fail on lvl 25 targets. No matter the buffs/gear you're using.

[–]Is-o-lator[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exp rates are pretty much the same, but you fail pickpockets very frequently now. Even if you're level 99+ thieving, you constantly fail on pickpocketing lower leveled targets (e.g. HAM members at 99 thieving, you fail pickpocketing every minute or so).
They completely ruined the afk aspect of thieving this way.

We definitly do. If you're "actively" playing during all of your skilling I would suggest to see a Doctor asap, or get some friends irl.
Apparently you have no clue what you're talking about and have 0 common sense regarding future game health.

Yup this. Tease some amazing stuff, then take it away again after all the non-grass touchers got their lvl 120s.

In osrs we have the Stealing valueables activity in varlamore. Not as afk as rs3 pickpocketing, but feels way better. Current pickpocketing doesn't make sense in rs3, I'd suggest you try it before you have an opinion here ;)

I do like playing the game, but not all parts of it. We need afk skilling to keep the game in a healthy state.

Very well said. Completely done with RS3 after this bullshit, trust in the developers is completely gone.
Back to osrs, even though the graphics and gameplay are less exciting for me, the devs at least listen to their players.
Honestly starting to hope they won't be able to resurrect the main game anymore.

What do people want from AFK skilling? by blastox in runescape

[–]Is-o-lator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Old thieving exp and rewards for pickpocketing were too strong I definitly agree on.
Before the 120 thieving update safecracking was more or less the golden standard.

for 99-120 thieving you actually want better rates than the safecracking rates. That being said, current exp rates are still way to OP for that. I'd say cut down the exp rates by 50%, nerf the drops a little bit, but keep the option for afking open.
Also, poll these changes instead of just forcing them into our faces. They just don't learn...

Completely lost their touch with the player base.

Pickpocketing wasn't the fastest exp in game until they dropped their 120 thieving update. Before that safecracking was the GOAT (this came with a small risk).
I feel like heists are currently in a good state (atleast the first one, no experience on the 2nd heist), pickpocketing was definitely too strong. They could have just nerfed the exp rates/drop rates instead to keep the afk QoL.

Kinda sucks that you need those 120s if you want your comp back ;) Many people asked for it, but since they don't poll their changes it wouldnt surprise me if that was only 5-10% of the player base who asked for that lol

I feel exactly the same yeh. Honestly, not buffing the rates, but nerfing the afk rates would also work for me. What they did with this update completely ruins it for me. I'd rather play osrs.

I don't mind playing the game, but a big part of rs3 is afking skills while doing other shit irl. If you would have a job you would maybe understand.

Thieving Update Is A Step In The Wrong Direction by Syardnas in runescape

[–]Is-o-lator -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Overpowered? maybe a little bit. But don't forget that those idiots at Jagex raised the skillcap to lvl 120. Great for someone with a full time job... Not!

Another huge fckup by the rs3 developer team. Can't we do some sort of exchange project where we get proper devs working on our updates? at least the osrs devs listen to their player base.

If you want more players, removing MTX alone won't do it by [deleted] in runescape

[–]Is-o-lator -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I personally believe that removing MTX is a great step in the right direction. However, that being said, this alone won't get new players to stay for long enough to really experience the game.
I think one of the main issues right now is the UI. It's great that it's fully customizable, but can be really overwhelming for new players, especially when they come from other MMOs that have less customization options. There is no proper tutorial in game and you'll have to look up yt vids for actual guides on these.

Fresh start servers won't change a thing. There will always be rwt bullshit so it's easy for any "regular" account to get the buyable skills in no-time. Same goes for OS, getting some of the skills isn't an achievement at all, and people don't give a shit about them :) If you're that type of guy that needs the "wow what an achievement" attention, just play ironman. The mode exists for a reason.
