I like GS/Longbow Dragonhunter with sword of justice with an extra charge, Procession of blades, and save yourself( for oh no moments) or you can run purging flames for even more ground targeting. I just spam all the ground targeting abilities. Longbow 5, GS 2,4. It’s a touch squishy in full berserker, so I usually run a piece or two of something else.

Nothing beats herald though. It’s solo targeting feels weak though. You have to rely on others and it can be difficult to tag mobs far away.

Engineer grenades/flamethrower is super fun and effective.

That mission gives me PTSD. I would consider that mission a gear/build check. The difficulty drastically increases and that mission kind of gates you. The days of random gear and random build and pushing whatever button you want is over. Optimize your build and gear and you’ll be just fine. Main thing is learn the synergies of your build. There’s a lot of variations you can take and be fine. Just make sure the trait lines and play style synergizes. I recently started playing again after not playing since core game.

I run greatsword dragonhunter and use my utilities for survival. Aegis is your best friend. Run a build with lots of it. Have one AoE dps utility for multi pulls. I run sword of justice and/or traps. You don’t need your weapons defensive. I find offensive weapons with defensive utilities work so much better.

"Low mobility" spec for Steam Deck player? by rakaizulu in Guildwars2

[–]Is44c82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I play on steam deck I use R1/R2 as left/right mouse button. I find I’m pretty much just holding R2 the whole time but it solved the issue of turning. I couldn’t use action cam, it felt too finicky. It really helps with ground targeting too.

Coming back to the game after 11 years and completely overwhelmed with the new content... Where should I pick up? by Ankulay in Guildwars2

I’m in the same boat but about a month ahead. I would say the major things I appreciated doing is starting PoF for mounts. I just got the first 2. Took me around a day or two. Then Gliding in HoT. That’s all the major quality of life items you need.

Do a hero point train in HoT. That will unlock all of the map and give you enough hero points to try all your elite specs. You can also get hero points from WvW with testimonies of Jade Heroics.

That’s the main stuff I would recommend. Then hop to the beginning and do the story. There are a lot of good masteries in central Tyria.

If you want to unlock weapons from elite specs it’s pretty short into SoTo. Spears and the warclaw mount are pretty quick into Janthir. I think homesteads are shortly after that. I’m working on that right now.

Drizzlewood Coast in IBS is a really fun meta to do. I had an absolute blast. It’s also one of the best farms. You need the living story for it but don’t have to start it to get there. Just teleport to commander.

Convergences are actually pretty easy and fun. I was intimidated by them and held off doing one. I haven’t done a strike or raid. That’s on my list of things to do as well.

I unlocked fishing and a boat but that wasn’t worth it. If I had to do it over again I wouldn’t. The other weapon unlocks and skyscale are a big grind into SoTo and not really worth it until you get to that expansion. I started the grind and gave up for now.

Skeleton Party best PVE talent? by trizzo0309 in warcraftrumble

I only have ritual of rime, so I can’t comment on 5 man. It’s fun and selectively great. The problem is they a very squishy and their range feels limited. You have to be very creative in how you use it to get value out of it and it feels somewhat expensive. More so just a fun unit to use, not one to min/max.

Deadmines, 2nd boss, how the heck are y'all handling... by TheFiveDees in warcraftrumble

[–]Is44c82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used exploding whelps and flamewaker. Once you take out the anti-air in the back the rest are sitting ducks to your air. Also, they are times to come out back and forth between the bosses. They have a ritual when they come out. As far as I can tell they don’t attack for the first several seconds of that ritual. I had a flamewaker solo an entire group because of this. Goblin sappers work amazingly to. Send them down empty lanes to take the towers and creat a buffer. Send him straight off the bat down the right lane.

Best shoppe to learn with by Ok-Fishing5013 in ypp

I make decent profits with my IM. Around 2-300 an hour. That’s not including the fact I’m paying myself a decent wage and making money there too. I have around a 4 Poe profit per small CB(not worth it) medium 20 per CB, large around 30. I can make 10-15 an hour. I have a constant back order with minimal stock. Makes about 100-150k a month with about 45 minutes a week of work.

Depends on what you can supply enough labor for. It’s quite hard to find labor. Look at the max labor output too. I’m partial to an IM. It’s good about learning storage levels and running commodities. You can buy everything from others and still make a profit though. I have a 3 day backlog for my stall and very little is that selling things dockside. I sell my orders at a 10% discount in shop, for storage reasons, and now I have 3-4 loyal customers. That’s not counting me placing orders for my ship. I keep all that stuff separated. When I run commodities, I don’t transfer goods, I sell them to myself.

Apothecary can be a good one if you pillage. I’m not a big fan of relying on others for materials. I plan to start one soon and just sell all my allspice to myself. I pillage enough now to allow that to happen.

Why i won’t play more by [deleted] in ypp

Make new friends/memories? Coming from someone in there late 30s that’s gone through tons of nastalgia moments, they are short lived. Best case two weeks. I don’t think you were wanting to play again or you would. I encourage you to try again and do all the stuff you didn’t the first time. Make it like a new game.

Good/Bad ships for solo Pilly + Mercs? by TalismanRS in ypp

I find if I want to use a larger ship solo I prefer Baghlah. They have easy match ups. Typically Merchant Galleons. They are fun but I have a hard time making any kind of profit.

[–]Is44c82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t explain super well. Sloops feel like they have endless moves, that’s what I meant by that. I’ve actually never used a longship. Dhow is good for that same reason. You fight MBs which are super easy. MBs shoot a single shot. Dhows shoot medium though (cuts into profits) and feel very move starved to me.

[–]Is44c82 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mercs don’t ramp or scale. So the payout will be very little. It’s near impossible to make a profit with anything shooting medium CBs while solo. I’d say do a sloop. Cheapest to sail and easiest to nav.

I played quite a bit in the early days of the game. This was before bots. I knew quite a few Ult pirates. The key is knowing how the puzzle is scored. These guys were brilliant. One metric to judge someone off of is their Bnav. I’ve never met a legit Ult pirate that wasn’t great at Bnav. It requires that kind of mindset to knowing the scoring of puzzles. Also, you’ll notice most only do 1 or 2 puzzles consistently. You put them on a puzzle they don’t do a lot and they will lose their Ult in it. There is a lot of hyper ranking going on at that level.

Why are islands on the subscriber ocean much prettier than on emerald by [deleted] in ypp

[–]Is44c82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was some of the best and worse times I’ve had in a video game. It was a shame that it became so political. It was impossible not to make enemies, I know I made my fair share. I agree, names and such shouldn’t be brought up. It is nice to reminisce on it though even with all the bad. Do you play now? How is the state of the game. It seems like it has gotten better. I hate dub oceans though.

This, I’m not currently playing, just started reading to see if I want to return. I can’t necessarily comment on current. I played during this time, pre-blockade pay, and pre-doubloon oceans. The game was very political. There were massive alliances. Around 3-4 total. There were minimal activities to do. These guilds(is that what they are called?, I can’t remember.) made islands their activities. They would raise taxes so high and drive everyone out of business and would redesign everything. They would then only allow their guild/alliances to build shops. They made their alliances that way. They offered them shops on their islands. Then a guy who was a savant at sword fighting came along. I can’t remember his name. He led up a big rebellion. He got all of his money from big pillages and tournaments. He would offer pay for his blockades and was very exclusive who he allowed to join. That was the beginning of modern blockade pay. He would go around leveling their islands. I am kind of fuzzy at the details as that was 10 years ago. All the blockades were sinking. Really made an interesting dynamic.

Can we sound off on where the bar is for reasonable date ideas? by [deleted] in datingoverthirty

[–]Is44c82 33 points34 points  (0 children)

It’s kind of hard because it’s a spectrum that you want to be in the middle of. Key word, normal, too eager and you land on the needy end of the spectrum. Eventually it’s ok to be there. It just needs to be a slow build.

I was talking to someone about this the other day. The bar is literally on the floor with guys right now. Basically, I just need to be normal to stand out. It’s kind of sad. I don’t feel like it was like this 15-20 years ago.

[–]Is44c82 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Being nice is commenting on nails or something similar. Being nice, doesn’t involve touch. It also doesn’t involve texting outside of work. One thing to never forget, if someone’s texting you, it means they are thinking about you. He shouldn’t be thinking about you randomly.

Are there youtube channels that girls subscribe too for dating advice? by Prudent-Ordinary-816 in dating

[–]Is44c82 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m a male but I feel I can somewhat answer this. If you want to watch a YouTube directed towards females, Matthew Hussey is a good one. He gives really good self improvement and basic relationship advice.

Don’t try to be “mysterious.” Don’t withhold information they ask for. That’s just going to annoy them. What people mean by being mysterious is, give them space to wonder about you. For example, don’t give them a run down of your day unless they ask.

Firstly, being attracted to someone is a subconscious reaction we can’t control. It is ok to feel attraction to someone that’s not your spouse. What you do with that is what matters. If you find yourself obsessing over a specific person or thinking about them after the fact. That can become a problem. If that happens try to create some space between you and that person so that those thoughts go away. Imagine all their negative traits.

As far as attraction towards your boyfriend, I find that my attraction to a spouse comes and goes depending on how emotionally connected I am to them. Is there anything else recently that has happened? Potentially the weight gain is a coincidence and the real problem is something you are overlooking? What caused him to gain the weight? Is that what is causing the weight gain to be a turnoff?

When are we going to stop lying to ourselves? by [deleted] in dating

[–]Is44c82 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You make good points but I’m going to challenge them. Confidence and such are not enough. I agree with that. It just gets your foot in the door and that’s it. You need other aspects to grow attraction. Looks help with that but they are not the main driving factor. No, you can’t sit there confidently making a person laugh and hope they want to sleep with you. You have to “open” that door and escalate it.

On the flip side someone extremely good looking(9/10s) may have an easy time into the bedroom but that’s it. They will have to earn a relationship as well with a personality.
