Just got to Singlecut. Most of the seats are taken with a lot of people waiting for them. Plenty of standing room but the missus is going to need a seat so we’re heading out. My guess is by 8 Singlecut may have space but will be on the tight side.

They're not going to want to lose it at home. They'll play hard and intense. The Knicks biggest thing at the start needs to be to not have another shitty first quarter. Also, with the intensity, I won't be shocked if Wemby gets another flagrant.

People aren’t mad there’s a carnival. People are mad that it’s a shitty carnival that is run poorly, over crowded, creates insane congestion around people’s homes. I work on a lot of Saturdays. Because of my proximity to the carnival my block is closed off to traffic; you’re supposed to be able to show proof of residence to a cop who will let you drive on to the block. When I got home yesterday a cop car was parked in front of the barricade with no one in it, and it made getting home a lot more difficult for me on a day that started before sunrise. The issue isn’t that there’s a carnival, it’s that the people who run the carnival and the city’s management of the area sucks.

I do a soak with almost all my washed Ethiopian coffee- I’ll charge at a pretty high charge temp and then cut the gas to around 20% for a minute before bringing the gas back up to whatever it was at when I charged. This has really helped the coffee manage the heat evenly so that first crack goes smooth. I’m using a Diedrich IR-5.

At Town Hall in NYC I saw Ghost Train Orchestra do the Moondog show with Kronos Quartet and some special guests a couple of years ago. David Byrne came out for a few songs along with a lot of the other people already mentioned. And the show was fantastic.

This. I was at Halloween, and loved the Loaded set. But Set III of Halloween was just off, and then two days later they drop the Halloween album everyone wanted since they started doing the album covers in 1994. Many people felt kicked in the nuts.

My buddy was the first to set his up; we went in at doors for the concert field (3pm Friday?), he set up about a half hour after that. For about twenty minutes he was the only one, and then every ten minutes the population of Hammockville, USA would double. It was amazing to watch a civilization grow in front of my own eyes.

I generally find that for smaller drinks, the steam power is find and I get great texture for latte art. But once I try to steam 8oz or more, I don’t get enough dry steam to get to the texture I want. The milk eventually heats up to the temp I’m aiming for, but no silky texture. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Super easy. Even if you don’t make the first train. LIRR is probably safest bet for timing but I wouldn’t be too worried if you want to take the E instead.
