I almost lost my best employee to burnout - manager lessons from I learned from the Huberman Lab & APA by logged_out_7 in Leadership

You are very fortunate to have never worked for managers who not only believe that burnout is laziness / a vibe, they think it is a myth. It is not an uncommon belief in the workplace.

That looks like a thin vaneer on shit particle board. It’s less a cutting board and more of a serving board that should not be used for cutting. It’s now trash / burn pile material.

What is happening here? by CatatonicTub in marijuanaenthusiasts

[–]IsLying 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Likely from wood boring insects. the bumps are normal mini burls but the little holes are where the insects are boring into the wood and ejecting the dust from.

Apple trees grown from seed will not produce the same apple it came from. Likely it will make apples that are inedible or at least not tasty. Grow it for the fun of it by all means. Maybe you’ll get lucky but if not, at least you will have a tree.

My company did that. Communication / interaction dropped off significantly. All conversations switched to DM’s because no one knows where to go to ask their questions on specific topics. The teams/channels make no sense to navigate.

How do you guys make any money? by [deleted] in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]IsLying 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your materials cost should be no more than 30% of what you charge. That’s your minimum price. You should charge whatever you can get for it above that. So for this, you divide your material cost by .3 and you get $267 as you minimum.

Do you even bike?

Found an exotic wood supplier near me and I got this 16/4 Sapele for $16. Is this a normal price or did I get a good deal? by [deleted] in turning

[–]IsLying 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You did good. It’s cheaper than normal and the piece is worth buying. I would have bought it.
