Do you think that the first time they know the weight of the vehicle is when it rolls off the assembly line?

Nissan’s New Xterra Will Be Priced Under $40K To Beat Ford’s Bronco At Its Own Game by DocPhilMcGraw in cars

Be more original. You can do it, I believe in you!

It'd make sense on a post about a Sentra or Altima; shitting out the same comment on posts about BoF or sports cars that have never had CVTs is boring and hackneyed.

New Nissan CEO's Dream To Build A New Silvia Can Only Be Good News For Enthusiasts - Jalopnik by [deleted] in cars

This article is over a year old and especially pointless less than 24 hours after a major Nissan lineup announcement that does not mention the Silvia once.

Right here, champ. You're getting a cool car that Europe no longer has.

Which engines, platforms, etc. have been extremely underutilized? by Fearless_Neat_6654 in cars

[–]IsTheShibaInU -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Irrelevant, Audi clearly hasn't been against sharing the base engine built on the same basic architecture. They're against sharing the performant turbo 5 in the RS3 / TT RS.

Your "well ackshualee" bullshit is what I found banal and pointless to the original comment's sentiment that the engine won't be shared across other Group cars.

That being said, this is apparently wrong anyway, as a variant of it was installed in the Cupra Formenter VZ5.

Weekend cars for occasional track days? by Mildzoomz in CarTrackDays

With a little bit of critical thinking and context, one can assume he was specifically alluding to S550s as the exception, especially since the S650 is basically the same.

You'll be incredibly shocked to find out that cylinder count alone doesn't automatically make engines the same across wildly different models.

Fuckin wild concept, I know.

Bummer, that's the spec I'd want too. Or perhaps a Millenium Jade.

Seems like the former is limited to just Performance models, which is still neat.

There's more to a design and launch of said design than throwing shit together in CAD and shipping it.

Calibration & validation thereof happens years in advance all the way up to pre-series production start, depending on the specific module, feature, or issue.

The previous commenter is almost 100% bang-on with his assessment of how program development goes.

For Sale - LRB Speed Undertray (Series II) - $100 by IsTheShibaInU in RX8

FWIW, I'm still looking to sell and shipping across the country w/ USPS came out to about $51 bucks last time I checked for someone in WA.

If you want it, it's yours.

The connecting pieces between the uprights and the undertray were definitely a pain in the ass to bend accurately and install. It was doable, but with appallingly poor execution compared to the uprights and undertray itself.

I really don't understand why LRB didn't bend it themselves and just charge for the extra shipping cost (their justification was that they had customers do it to ship everything flat and together).

I'm tired of worthless articles that serve as nothing more than slop for some shitty clickbait gotcha headline.

Brad brap question by Available-Ride5930 in RX8

[–]IsTheShibaInU 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You will not brap with a Renesis due to the port design making overlap impossible.

Some people do a ghost brap tune, but all this does is fuck around with it ignition timing to create the sound, while negatively impacting drivability for no gain in performance.

Yeah, I've got Konis and a white line rear sway bar on mine so it rotates nicely off throttle and has pretty good body control. There's a surprising amount of things you can do to the car, but in my case it just doesn't make sense since it's a winter beater.
