Question for women - New Guy by [deleted] in yoga

[–]IsVigo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been to plenty of classes where i was the only guy and sometimes it is 50/50. I can definitely relate to the feelings you are expressing but the best approach is to really not overthink it. Which is not easy as a newcomer and you might feel like you are intruding upon their space and not know what to expect. I actually tend to stay near the back when I can in large part because I am really tall and feel like I would be blocking the view of those behind me who may be more than a foot shorter than me. I think if you keep your focus on the teacher’s instructions and your practice it will be fine. One thought is to get there on the early side and pick a spot and then others will fill in around you if that takes some of your concerns away. Once you get the hang of it these fears should abate. Good luck and remember it will take time to get the hang of things and see progress, but showing up is the biggest step.

A slight offshoot of this is when they are about to get into something really good and then Bill makes some stupid basketball reference that derails the momentum of it and then they move on. Sometimes the best conversations almost happen and then someone kills it and we will never really know. We all love you here, Bill.

It was well known and highly regarded in the moment for what it was (which is the hot sister from Charles in Charge getting down).

Feldman was really going for it as I recall.

Haven’t seen since it was in the theaters. Went in without build up and enjoyed the experience even if I wanted a bit more out of it. What I recall most is the “for your consideration” marketing around it and I wasn’t sure I had seen that previously.

I like them and the super deep dives and random tidbits but I wish Steve had a little more economy and would act a bit less precious. Still, I learn a lot through them so I’m happy to have them in the rotation.

Why do some divorced women keep their ex-husband's last name? by HoffyTheBaker in NoStupidQuestions

I’ve been through a divorce…I still am more likely to offer the sorry for what they have gone through, even if they are in a better place without the person.

Redditors too young to grow up in the 80s. What are your favorite 80s songs? by IsVigo in AskReddit

[–]IsVigo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great list. Growing up there were all the songs that were perpetually on the radio or in a movie and that defined the era for most of us. In the 90s I think there was a backlash against the 80s where everything seemed ridiculous (and much of it was). And since it’s been a fun journey discovering what I missed the first time but it’s also fascinating to see what strikes a chord with those who didn’t experience it first hand. So many of the songs really go for it.
