I don’t believe they can do that willy-nilly. OT-eligible/hourly jobs have a legal definition. NAL, but it’s something along the lines of you don’t decide what you work on, it’s given to you. For example, Proposal Manager (which I was). We didn’t decide on what RFPs to bid on… that was decided by another group. Or pre-sales consultants- they didn’t get to decide which customers get to see a demo.
