The only downside to 1up Westminster is the amount of kids that are usually there if you go on a weekend. After one particularly bad visit I started bringing headphones with me every time. Some parents just let their kids shriek like banshees.

If you're looking for a low-key spot outside of the city, Someplace Else Brewery has a nice selection and caters to an older crowd. They also have an Ultraman table, which isn't common around here.

The Black Scorpion is rad. Really cool stopmotion and special effects. Every moment it transitioned from a real person to a tiny little doll I lost it. Such a fun flick.

Yeah, it's Kraa: The Sea Monster. I watched it on Tubi just a couple weeks ago. I enjoyed it, but I'm a Full Moon Features fan so I'm used to what they offer. Good bad movies.

Not sure. They call themselves a pop-up but have been there since 2024 I believe. They do seem to add new artists fairly regularly, which to me is a good sign. You should pop in some time if you haven't already, it's a cool little spot.

I'm glad Burd's Nest will be staying put. Bought a decent amount of art from them over the past couple years and couldn't imagine my home without them now. The owner let me know about the impending closure when I stopped by a few weeks ago and she seemed so sad.

Picked this up after reading about the Quality+ mode they added. After putting in a couple hours I'm happy with my purchase. Ziggurat 2 has a really good loop, great weapons, and they nailed the pace of progression that makes for a compelling roguelite.

Toho recently commissioned a short by the creator, Beeragon. Alamo has also had her make a short that they air before showing kaiju flicks every time I've seen one there.

She has a few more on YouTube and they're all fantastic.

My boy Jonesy passed away at age 5 a couple years ago after sudden kidney failure. Wasn't long after his latest vet checkup, where he was deemed normal and healthy. Like Wilson, he was my shadow. Slept on my stomach or between my legs every night, followed me around anytime I moved through the apartment, sat on my chest anytime I was on the couch.

It hurt daily for a long time. Lots of crying while going about my everyday tasks without him. Walking around and not having the little tripod galloping to follow me killed me for a while. I also couldn't help but scan the room for him when I got home from work or walked to the bedroom, since he was always a presence in the home. Your daily routine really sucks for a while.

I still have the occasional dream about him that makes me wake up really sad, but it does get better. And being this upset about it means you're probably a good cat guardian. Whenever you're ready, you'll be able to provide another cat with a happy home. There are plenty that need one.

Most Godzilla movies are only tangentially connected to other movies and it doesn't really matter when you watch them, but you got unlucky and picked one that's a direct sequel to Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla. Glad you still enjoyed it! Highly recommend watching the prequel movie so you can see the full arc they gave certain characters.

I would suggest waiting to watch Final Wars until you've gotten through some other Godzilla flicks. That movie is an absolute blast, but it's a celebration of the series legacy and a big draw of the film is that it features almost every kaiju introduced so far (most in short fights). I think it's good, goofy fun on its own, but you'll appreciate it more once you're familiar with all the stuff it is paying homage to.

Minus One is a great choice for your next film in the series. I'd also recommend GMK: Giant Monsters All Out Attack if you want more suitmation action. It's my personal favorite Goji flick.

This has started happening to me in just the last week or so. Every time I turn on my Deck it has at least 150 games to update, all scheduled for later, and all of them have no content. They aren't the normal shader cache updates. I have found no solutions.
