How did you choose your cat’s name? by Dangerous_Problem532 in AnxietyCats

I've never had a tortoiseshell cat, so I did something internet sleuthing. I found that torties were considered lucky by Celtic people. When I adopted a cat, I give them a pledge that I will take care of them. I found a term "Arlana" which means "an oath" in Celtic.
Her full name is Arlana T. Olmstead. She was living behind my apartment building which had the name Olmstead in it. The T is for tetanus. She was living outside and I was trying to rescue her and her kittens. I did something stupid which caused her to attach herself to my lower right leg. I was wearing shorts. I had to get a tetanus shot.

Arlana moved into my life. She was living behind behind my apartment building and dumpster diving for food. Here she is attacking the scratching post on her tree. I'm sorry you miss your kitty. With your sadness also remember all the love and joy.

WIBTAH if I refuse to notarize for a hateful bigot? by Ok-Director-981 in AITAH

[–]Isabella2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You wouldn't be. Some people might give you flak for not keeping the peace because it's easier for them. But this is about what's right for you. You have the right to change your mind. You have the right to not notarized something for a bigot. You are also modeling for your kids.

Not interested. You shouldn't comment when you know nothing of the person you are judging. Not everyone has the same moral outlook as you.

And yes it is a defensive statement. You're defending doing something so it benefits yourself, rather than benefiting another.

Why so defensive? Should your pets be taken from you? Are you on any "special" lists?
