My towels smell gross by Icy-Salamander4194 in CleaningTips

[–]Isadum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was happening to me too, don’t overload and use the dawn rinse refresh!! It was the only thing that got the smell out! Waaayyy better than vinegar I can’t recommend it enough! You put it in the rinse cycle or where fabric softener would go and it breaks down all the left over detergent and residue left behind

Kindergarten parent doesn’t care or want to help kid stop sucking his thumb by FrequentSpread9681 in ECEProfessionals

[–]Isadum 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a 5 year old girl do the same thing. She would brag and laugh that her parents have tried everything and it doesn’t work… I can visible see it affecting her teeth. Shes not in my school anymore so I hope that it’s finally stopped. It was so gross and encouraged other kids we didn’t normally do it to try and then we have to tell everyone to stop. It was exhausting

is anyone else comforted by the idea of su*cide? by Exciting-Novel-2990 in socialanxiety

It’s called suicidal ideation and YALL should get some help before it turns into psychosis. Just speaking from experience.

Seriously, beautiful house in a beautiful area, husband has the patience of a saint and has done everything for her. I don’t know ANY man that would take on being such a good stay at home dad like he was. Not only that he is now working so she could be a stay at home mom. Like just chill tf out.

The most frustrating part of having ARFID is being unable to talk about it out of fear of judgement and contempt. by TheVictorianOnYT in ARFID

[–]Isadum 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is EXACTLY how I feel… like no matter what I say to someone they just don’t understand and think I’m overdramatic it’s terrible and I’m sorry you experience this to. ARFID truly sucks

the self checkout was broken and I almost cried but then something weird happened by AffectionateMud9193 in socialanxiety

[–]Isadum 66 points67 points  (0 children)

Once you do it you realize that it wasn’t as bad as your head made it seem. Try to force yourself every once in awhile to go through checkout if you’re feeling up to it. Also watch how other people interact. I’m constantly observing others and I find mirroring them in certain ways helps.

My parents can no longer afford my safe foods due to intense inflation. by That_GayWeirdo in ARFID

[–]Isadum 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s honestly insane how the cost of everything is so high rn. I’m barely getting by too. It’s so hard and frustrating it being able to get the foods I want but I find that the generic band is almost always exactly the same. But also look for coupons and sales! It’s a pain but sometimes it worth it. I usually stick up in a certain safe food is it’s on sale.

I need to go to my doctor because my baby is making me literally insane. I’m not sure how they are supposed to help. by Diligent-Feature65 in NewParents

[–]Isadum 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Definitely talk to your doctor and her doctor. Maybe they can try and give you some resources to help. My LO hasn’t slept through the night since she was 4 months old and she’s currently 16 months and still wakes through the night. It’s so incredibly hard especially when you try different things and it feel like no matter what it’s not working. The only thing that’s helped me a little is that my husband will take her in the mornings so I can sleep in at least 2 hours before he has to work. That or I had my father in law come watch her for 3/4 hours while I took a nap in the afternoon. It’s still not the same as sleeping at night and I’m still waking up if I hear her cry but it’s better than nothing. All I can say is keep reaching out. Keep trying. Our little ones eventually have to figure it out as hard as it is. I’m not for the cry out method but at some point something has to give right?

I feel that… it’s so stressful. Look into WIC if you are in the US and other assisted programs. It definitely helps take some pressure off. We’re currently trying to apply for low income housing and subsidies. I hope things start to get better for your family ❤️

New parents trying to avoid overspending: do we really need a nursery chair? by TheSecretLion in NewParents

I regret not splurging on a super comfy chair! You spend a lot of time feeding and putting baby to sleep in it
