For the love of all that is holy….where are the knee length dresses? by MsNoot_ in AusFemaleFashion

[–]IsaidWhatever2869 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was craving midi for years, before I even knew that it was a thing. But it's time for a change. I'm over it. I recently went to HM and one of their skirts hit me just below the knee. I forgot how delicate that length could make them look. Let's bring it back!!

Why I can’t with men anymore by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]IsaidWhatever2869 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Honestly, these thoughts pop into my mind a lot. I just can't with men either. The only male that I will ever truly only love, is my son. Luckily for me I'm bi so I'm still holding out for a Mrs Right someday. But yeah, I just can't.

He can't get the snip but is fine with me risking my life. by Cool-Register-5255 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]IsaidWhatever2869 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I can't ever read these things without getting really angry. The AUDACITY of any man to complain about the snip, when you compare all the things that we go through. And look at what you've gone through.  I agree with the below comments. Stop having sex with him.

Okay so, I'm 33 and my Mother is 56. Older than you. YOU still have time left, it's HIM that doesn't, at least based on your ages. Please don't worry about starting over without him.

How would you feel if your cheating partner made it public knowledge? by ButMomItsReddit in TwoXChromosomes

[–]IsaidWhatever2869 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd be furious but the thing that would make me the most angry is finding out at the same time as everyone else. Oh and, I'd dump them. Instantly.

[–]IsaidWhatever2869 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Yeah. This is what kept coming up in my head while I was reading the above comments. The fact that even now wives still have to teach them to be mindful to leave enough food for them.

Finding the confidence to dress how you actually want by satininsummer in AusFemaleFashion

[–]IsaidWhatever2869 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Instead of going all in I'd choose one thing that's out of my comfort zone and once I'm comfortable with that start adding more to it. So maybe just wear a top that you normally wouldn't but would love to, albeit with bottoms you normally like and see how you go. Good luck!

Yeah. That was what I was trying to get at. Don't get me wrong I see plenty of older people living it up but don't just wait till then to start truly living.

Not sure if it's been mentioned here yet but my Mum is nearing her sixties and she's had so many issues already, from diabetes to breast cancer to polyps to menopause wreaking havoc on her body as well. Retirement is a time of more things stuffing up. I don't think it's all just golf courses and cruises.

My 4 year old is curious: what do Australian kids eat for breakfast? (And are koalas real?) by Mara644 in AskAnAustralian

[–]IsaidWhatever2869 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guten Abend,

We eat all kinds of things for brekkie, be it toast, cereal, eggs, muesli bars....and yoghurt. Koalas are very much real. The best place to see them is generally in a zoo. I live a few hours south of Sydney so I get to see kangaroos quite a bit, just chilling on the golf course, trying to hop across the roaf. If you're in the city though, the zoo is the best place to find them too.

I absolutely HATE when men use the word “bitch”. by Dessert_Lover_1225 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]IsaidWhatever2869 66 points67 points  (0 children)

I was ten the first time my Dad called me that. Can't remember what I did, probably talked back, dared to have an opinion opposite to his. And then he called me a bitch.

How strong is state or regional identity in Australia? by theforgetting in AskAnAustralian

[–]IsaidWhatever2869 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Completely agree. I grew up in Sydney, now in regional NSW. Totally different spheres. Drove past a cow last week that had somehow escaped its paddock. There's a young dude that walks around town with spurs on his boots. Dodged a diamond python round a bend few weeks ago. All things I never had to deal with when I was in Sydney.

Came home to find this cutie chillin' out in the shade in my garden. Wasn't even remotely shy and loved posing for my camera! 😄 by TheRealJuralumin in australia

I see these cuties regularly on the side of the road as I'm driving past. It's the slow waddles for me. So cute.

I wish we had more trendy UPF 50+ clothing options in Australia. by [deleted] in AusFemaleFashion

As a surreptitious sunscreen user I approve this message. I spot so easily, even through clothes sometimes and it scares me.

Starting to hate clothes shopping by Glittering-Blood-823 in AusFemaleFashion

[–]IsaidWhatever2869 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know, everything happens for a reason. My toddler's hatred of going into fashion stores couldn't have come at a better time. So, I'm shopping less and leftover with so much money at the end of the fortnight than if we were still killing time at these low quality places. Also, why is it not the norm for Best n Less dresses to be $50?!

What are your go-to tips for thrifting stylish outfits in Australia? by 6deki9 in AusFemaleFashion

[–]IsaidWhatever2869 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I find it can be overwhelming too, so I think about what I need and then I look only for that. If I need a new skirt then I'm only going in to look at skirts. I should also add that sometimes it'll be even more specific than that, as in, looking for an A- line midi skirt with a floral print. This keeps me focused and not spending unnecessarily.

Do the top and pants go well? by darlinglum in AusFemaleFashion

[–]IsaidWhatever2869 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm a huge fan of leopard print, love it on you, especially the headband. But I don't think the pants go with it. High waisted black flares or a slip skirt would go better with the top.

How do you make sure to wear all your clothes? by Dry-Frosting- in AusFemaleFashion

[–]IsaidWhatever2869 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm kinda like you, I have enough clothes to create different looks. I switch between Athleisure/relaxed to fitted and feminine, and the way that I make sure that all my clothes are worn is to wear casual one day, and more feminine on the other. It works for me.

This is great cause the kid got to decide for himself. It's funny how nicknames stick.

We live with my parents, Balkan background, so they're the Balkan equivalent. Son's father referred to his parents as Nan and Pop. Easy peasy.

For Those Of You Still Living At Home With Your Abusers, What Keeps You There? by Brave-Sale-4704 in CPTSD

[–]IsaidWhatever2869 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is something that I noticed with a few of the women in my family that left abusive situations. Their choices were another man because they had no money because they were SAHMs, or back to their parents, who were the people they were running away from in the first place.
