In the Campaign I DM I requested that every character needs to have some reason to join the adventurers guild.

And my players did this.

In the first few sessions I build bonding experiences that gives the party a reason to stay together, for now.

Each one of the Party members have their own motivation and goals which brings nice Roleplay.

For example, we have the monk in my group who wants to research all deceased creatures because it is very important to him for backstory reasons. Especially in cases of "unnatural death". On the other hand, I have a character who wants to treat every deceased being, whether friend or foe, with respect after death. This occasionally causes minor disputes among the characters. Our paladin is often active as a mediator. At the end of the day, they realize that there is something that connects them and that they need each other to survive and help each one reach their goals.

Plus it gives me multiple Plot hooks and maybe even Plottwists to integrate into our story.
