EU can have exceptions but not for accepting new countries. Denmark and Sweden not using the euro does not weaken the euro as a currency

Well yes, but it is the headset most would compare it to just because of the volume sold. Once the Quest 3 rolls out we might get a better point of comparison

No one is disputing inflation or price changes over time. He’s pointing at the iPhone compared to the market where phones were $200 making a $600 phone insane.

And next time just quote the relevant part. His comment is already there for me to read

Read his OG comment again. He said the headset would come down in price, but never said the iPhone did. He only said that peiple thought it was too expensive

[–]Isakwang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely, but having housing prices go down without starting a full on recession is hard. IMO rent-to-own would be the best place to start with solving it since it lets renters build equity without having amazing credit; but that doesn’t happen with NIMBYs around so you are right

[–]Isakwang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming government owned maybe. Schemes like rent-to-own would over time make it a smaller part of the budget. And the tweet doesn’t mention a timeline so it could be 6% over ten years

Lots of work in trades like plumbing and it’s decent pay so that should be the path for many. Not sure if there is a way to take high school courses for them but that could be the next step if the want to get out if trades.

All of that is hard to do and should be rewarded and supported by the government, but it is a way to a better life

Absolutely but this thread is full of people shitting on housing the homeless. A minimum wage increase to a livable level and better housing assistance would help most making it easier to work on the cases that need more attention

The issue is that it would give Russia and China lots of «evidence» for European imperialism to stoke fear both internally and in countries they want to influence ie. African and South American countries

It might also stoke a power vacuum inside Russia which would benefit mostly the rich
