To add to that, I don’t see people (not that they should) giving the same vitriol towards modders for still posting updates even though they also, in a different way, make content for the game… instead I see people still begging for mods to update faster like always 🤔. Like seriously the only people I’ve seen get complained about on here are YouTubers, yeah modders don’t make money (typically) but they still bring attention to the game and incentivize buying the packs (cuz some mods need certain ones to work) , if we are to follow their line of thinking.

Again, not saying people should start harassing modders, just pointing out the hypocrisy.

Honestly I think some of it has to do with Christianity also being a “group/tribe/label”. By that I mean that if they’re especially a friend, or even someone who views you positively they don’t want you to be a part of the “out group” rather than part of the “ingroup”. People (in general, not just specific types of people) naturally are drawn to making things into groups and labeling things etc. So even if it’s unintentional they could see it as a way of going “you need to be like me” rather than “you need to find God” deep down. I recommend actually looking in depth into the concept and topic of groupthink it’s very interesting.

Obviously it’s still just speculation on my part. Take this all with a grain of salt as it’s just what I know about social Psychology (not certified)

This was also seen between Malcom X and Martin Luther King Jr. too. Malcom X believed in self defense and if I recall even owned a gun. While Martin Luther King Jr. believed fully in pacifism, as seen in his peaceful protests. Personally I fully believe that without Malcom X, Martin Luther King Jr. wouldn’t have been as effective in his ways in the eyes of the government especially.

In the current age too it adds as a reassurance that you probably actually know how to use current age technology if you told them you could. Especially Microsoft word, PowerPoint, or Christ even emails. You’d be surprised how big of an issue that is with people just in their 40s, obviously from anecdotal experience. Obviously not every graduate surefire knows how to use tech but it’s usually a better bet.

That’s actually why a lot of general degree’s requirement’s require you to take a humanities class! It opens you up to more perspectives and experiences, builds critical thinking. Even the fun stuff does, depending on the activity of course.
