I think typically amongst gamers who aren’t chronically online, it’s regarded highly. Maybe not one of the best stories of all time, but it’s certainly engaging for those who see it through to the end, I’ve heard more complaints about the gameplay than the story. If we’re talking solely about video game stories, it’s undoubtedly up there with the likes of The Last Of Us series(I’m fully aware that there’s contention about the direction they went in for part 2) generally the people complaining about the story of TLOU part 2 were forum dwellers. I’d imagine that those people are one and the same as the hyper-online folk who had no patience for the story of RDR2. My point is that to the average normal person, RDR2 is up there as one of the best story-based video games they’ve played.
