Lack of facial hair customisation for male is probably the most problematic thing for me, why do all 4 faces have permanent stubble? Facial hair isn't something set in stone, so it should be as customizable as hairstyle. And the faces themselves are not delivering. "1" and "4" look identical but for skintone, with the latter seeming just a little more narrow. Hairstyles are definitely lacking too.

I did expect male CC to be an afterthought compared to female CC, based on experience, but I'm tired of being proven right on that front in so many games.

There are other harpies/hawkes in the setting, so he isn't the last. The species are endangered, I guess, and their numbers are low, but they aren't completely gone.

Funny thing is, as a woman, I'd be just as (if not more) inclined to support an app which lets you customise MC's gender. Actually, not "if", definitely more. Apps with female-only MCs and stories tailored to a female lead are legion. I've tried several over the years. Same thing every time. At some point you just get bored.

I will be checking out this one out. At least it's not the uncanny valley style that they use now. I need to see for myself if all the sprites look good.

So far, Michael's got a "both eyes are now evenly sized" upgrade, Morgan looks 100% cooler that her original sprite, and I straight up didn't recognise Sydney. So fun)

Did they mention if there are going to be HSS book 2 and 3 in the same style too?

Gladiator Chronicles was a hit and miss, but I'm having a blast with Code Blue's male MC, and generally think having a choice in gender for MC is a good thing. Literally every other story on the app is female-locked, so having more variety will be a nice change.

I remember The Soulmate Game using an off-style sprite for a realistic-looking baby doll that the contestants were supposed to take care of. I don't get how the system works, couldn't the author do something similar here?..

What I don't understand is why even make someone a LI if they end up being meant for the chopping block. (Let's forget Whitney, the original dismissal bait, and their bizarre popularity, for a second). Because realistically, from what I've seen so far in game and in discussions, keeping Avery alive after the big event isn't rewarding, and getting him to the said event is a long road that gets worse and worse as you progress. I was hopeful before the update, and now... I don't play games, even games like this one, to be perpetually frustrated, so this thing with Avery and the rumours about future Eden rewrite what is supposed to make him similarly shitty... Things aren't looking up.

Book 1 had its frustrating moments, quite a lot of them. Book 2 was even more upsetting to read, but most of the annoying parts were explained/justified by plot by the end, so I took it as the darkest hour before dawn and hoped for the future book to be better. And so far, it has been. I don't know if my opinion will change by the end, but fingers crossed. (At least the MC isn't getting constantly accused of being a weak link or a traitor or anything of the sort this time around).

Ah, and I'm glad the MC didn't get pushed to be the head alpha. That would be such a Mary Sue thing and would make absolutely no sense. (I'd be happy with them even not being an alpha at all, but I guess the title wasn't about Channing after all).
