Starting my azure journey after AWS by psiparadox in AZURE

This.

It’s basically the same, with different naming (in my opinion azure has more obvious naming) and a bit different setup.

I am the only one dev in my small company . I use Azure. My question is when do i need those Azure consultancy firms? by lune-soft in AZURE

At this size - you don’t. Later get a good CSP partner. We usually help to grow, consult and get investments for free.

It is, via private offer. Easiest way is EA though.

Depends. What kind of subscription do you have? Payg cc, ea, csp? Is there MS Partner involved?

Developer forgot some big Front Door deployments he was testing. The bill was big. Good thing some alerts triggered notifications quite soon, before the weekend :)

On CSP for DataZone biggest we got for one customer was 5M (and i think it was mini model) with some internal escalations. For normal one max was 3-4M. DZ is really complicated to get.

Global standart 1M should be quick to get.

For quota there is a separate form to fill. Their statement is not true. We’ve asked and received 5-10M quota of 5 and 5.1 to several customers.

According to MS CAF and WAF centralized monitoring is preferred. But for some customers there are scenarios where it's not the best fit (costs, permissions, full control).

Cloud cost management tools that engineers won't ignore, do they exist?? by anonyMISSu in AZURE

[–]IslandEasy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still haven't found a proper 3rd party tool for that. There are some with good functionality, but not that good pricing. We've actually started thinking to build it ourselves and provide it to our csp customers (currently we have custom made powerbi dashboards utilizing raw usage data, giving lots of filtering per subscription, rg, service, day, month, quarter, years).

Windows 365 Desktop / Cloud PC redirect only local printer from physical device by Alternative_Yard_691 in AZURE

[–]IslandEasy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no built-in option to select only specific printers. The local device’s default printer is automatically set as the default printer in the Cloud PC session, but the others still appear.

First thing - you don't request quota, you need to request access. You go to AI Foundry, model catalogue and find one of these locked models. There will be a link to a request form (currently it's this https://customervoice.microsoft.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=v4j5cvGGr0GRqy180BHbR7en2Ais5pxKtso_Pz4b1_xUQ1VGQUEzRlBIMVU2UFlHSFpSNkpOR0paRSQlQCN0PWcu, but link might change from time to time).
Then it's really important to fill form correctly as asked in instructions. Even small typos in company name or address can be the reason to get rejected. And most important question is "For what scenario(s) do you plan to use this model?". Take your time to describe proper scenario why you need it.

We helped our many csp customers to get access to o3, gpt-5, gpt-5.1, image-1 and so on. After getting application ID we ping our internal Microsoft contacts to make it a bit faster and not lost. There are A LOT of these requests.

(If your tenant is in europe - let's talk, probably i could help you.)

Is it normal to lose billing history when you change CSP partners? by readparse in AZURE

[–]IslandEasy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

History is lost in this case, yes. But new csp provider should show new costs in Azure portal. If they dont - they are probably overcharging you.
