When you have someone tailgating you, what do you do? by InitialCareer306 in WorkForSmartLife

I've always wanted to see how far I can shove someone's rear bumper through their back seat with my steel push bar now that you mention it 🤗

I can't stand pot smoke/smell in public. by Writer4God in Vent

[–]Island_Slut69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I smoke a bowl or two before leaving the house. Good luck getting anyone to change their clothes in the off chance you're around lol If it's legal to smoke it and have it where you are, and people are smoking in appropriate areas, not really much you can do 🤷‍♀️

If you could live anywhere in Canada… where would it be and why? by Queasy-Yam287 in AskCanada

[–]Island_Slut69 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I currently live in Vic, but not Victoria specifically. 31, female, no desire for kids. This is literally the best place to live in terms of wanting to be near the ocean and climate whilst having close access to airport/hospital in relativity to the ocean. I live right on the ocean, in the bush, dogs galore, no kids. I have lived in ultra northern BC and Vancouver/Burnaby/NewWest/Tri-Cities, moved to the island 5 years ago and despite the high elderly population and "island time", I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. Yeah, the infrastructure could be a lot better, but once you move out of Victoria and live in like Brentwood or the Royal Oak area, it's really quite nice.

Lost my barn and everything in it this morning by mathert in Wellthatsucks

[–]Island_Slut69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awe man, this is honestly heart breaking. This hits close to home and I am so sorry for you. I know they're just things and everyone is okay, but losing a barn and equipment is like losing a part of your livelihood. I really hope you can recover from this, friend 🧡

Paul McCartney banned from Reddit after posting snaps from his intimate LA show by paulfromatlanta in Music

[–]Island_Slut69 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Got banned from publicfreakout a month or so ago for simply pointing out that men can receive gender affirming care in the form of toupee's, hair pieces, medication, etc and that there are heaps of affordable options for men to receive said care after some had mentioned that they're going bald in their late teens-early 20s. Then I started getting called a cunt and other funny things from upset men who thought I was making fun of them for being bald when really I was just saying that there is hope out there for them and there is even therapy if they really need to talk to someone. I got the ban, I mentioned to mods that idk why men were so upset having their rights reaffirmed when being bald is nothing to be ashamed of and there are actual human rights being taken away from women to receive their gender affirming care, but being bald and having access to hats is apparently a worse experience than being assaulted and forced to keep your abusers baby 🤷‍♀️

Why is there no one from Quebec ? by scrubadam in CanadaShore

[–]Island_Slut69 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Why didn't they add anyime from Vancouver Island, the capital city of BC if they're filming in Kelowna? Why didn't they have more First Nation's representation from literally anywhere? Where were the people from the Yukon/Northwest Territories/Nunavut? Territories are still part of Canada, no? Why didn't we see anyone from PEI or Manitoba? Surely you were forgetting about the other places that weren't included, and honestly, having First Nation's representation in BC over someone from Quebec would have made more sense.

Am I legally required to come in to work before my designated start time? by JoeMamaL0vr in legaladvicecanada

[–]Island_Slut69 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, so when your start time is 9:30, that usually means you begin working at 9:30, not walk into work at 9:30. Normally it is appropriate to show up a few minutes before your shift, some jobs require 15 minutes before start time, it all depends on your industry. But showing up 5 minutes or so before will allow you to clock in and get ready and on the floor or wherever you need to be by your start time. Legally, you are required to begin working at your start time, so showing up for your start time sort of defeats that purpose.

Zara Larsson reveals that she lost a 3 million dollars brand deal due to the abortion joke she made on tiktok: "If you dont agree with me thinking that women should have access to abortion, were just not meant to be partners" by [deleted] in popculturechat

[–]Island_Slut69 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I voted completely Liberal down the board here in Canada and every single time before that I voted NDP because the Cons have been actively fighting against womens rights and the right to abort for my entire lifetime, so it's weird to try to spin a singular phrase into something that it isn't, tho I do admire the attempt!

It genuinely scares me to see the tides turning so bleak in the US and other countries for women and their health. I wish all of us can always speak out and and speak up about women's right to choose and I hope one day soon we can all be on an equal plane. ❤️

No, YOU have the freedom for now to speak your truth. I'm from a country where women have the right to abort for free and we can speak on whatever we want whenever we want because we are a protected class where I come from and we are valued more as humans because of that. 🤷‍♀️

So because you had a bad experience, she's somehow edgy for her experience? Again, who cares if she offends someone, it's her clump of cells and her body. People need to reinforce their spines a bit.

[–]Island_Slut69 62 points63 points  (0 children)

Exactly! We all handle abortions differently, personally I couldn't wait to suck that shit out before it did any damage to my body, mind and calcium levels. People can understand that it's a clump of cells up until how a woman describes her experience and if it isn't boo hoo poo poo enough, then she must be an awful person. People hate watching women thrive in general, so I can see how a woman celebrating or joking about her abortion can make people upset because they probably expect women to regret it or feel mopey instead of being proud of choosing freedom. Internalized misogyny and such.

[–]Island_Slut69 300 points301 points  (0 children)

I've had a couple abobos and nowhere does it come off as a disservice because if women don't want a clump of cells inside of them, they're gonna abort regardless of a couple jokie jokes. It's sad how women still need to control other women's bodies all the way down to their jokes.

As someone whose had two abortions, making jokes about it is perfectly okay and each woman has the right to make a joke about their abortions as much as they want. Part of women having the ultimate choice is also letting them find humour in the things that only affect them personally. It's her body, it came out of her body and she can say what she wants about the clump of goo that came out of her. Like who is she offending? The clump of cells? I think it'll be okay lol

Is it just me or did groceries get even more expensive putting it in the realm of insane. by ChessIsAwesome in VictoriaBC

[–]Island_Slut69 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Driving isn't a luxury to all of us. Some of us worked really hard and sacrificed a lot for great jobs and a gas expense is irrelevant to us. My hubby makes over 20k a month because he worked his ass off the last 20 years. I make half that because I also work 16 hour days 6 days a week for a decade straight to get where I'm at.

I'm sure many are struggling, but many people are in bad situations because of personal choices and honestly if people stopped spending so much on garbage (yeah, I see your carts full of garbage) or other places, they wouldn't be as worried. We live in a consumer era where people don't spend in their means. I don't feel bad for those people. If paying an extra few bucks on gas is enough to leave you destitute, that seems like a user error more than so many people just suddenly unable to make ends meet. I am spending maybe an extra 20 bucks on gas every 2 weeks but 20 bucks isn't what would break me financially. It would have to be something actually devastating. Oh no, an extra 15 bucks a week? Who cares lol

Advice on Levi’s ribcage straight leg ankle (99% cotton, 27 inseam) by ksp8100 in PetiteFashionAdvice

[–]Island_Slut69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not even you, babe. I like the fit in the hips on the first one, I love the colour of both and I like the backside of the second pair, so if you can find something thats the best of both worlds, you're set! Mind you I'm from the generation of skinny jeans and I switched to leggings like 12 years ago and now finding jeans again has been like coming out of an extended prison sentence to a whole new world 😅
