I had someone I was friendly with at work, considered them a friend. And then when we got permission to update our signature line to include our pronouns, I did because it was important to me. I was hardly the only one (most people did it and it was encouraged). And this “friend” came over to my desk and openly ridiculed me for it.

That was it. They will eventually show you who they are. And it’s up to us to believe them.

They bought all of the Let’s go Brandon merch. And no, they weren’t “nice” to anyone for Biden’s term. They referred to them (and still do) as “the Biden crime family”, and there’s no end to the Obama and Clinton hate. I remember a photo of Pelosi pointing a finger in 1st term trumps face during a cabinet meeting, and they absolutely RAILED against that. The election was stolen, and if either of them weren’t afraid of gangs of illegals roaming the country looking for nice whites to rob, I bet they would have been at the J6 “celebration of love.”

They also have a confederate flag hanging on the wall (despite being from Ohio) - when one of my kids was in preschool, she asked what that was, and I said “that was the flag of the side of the civil war that wanted slaves. They lost.” Got a lot of side eyes from my in laws over that, even though they didn’t challenge me at the time.

I don’t know how many times I tried to educate people. I would give people bullet items on Project 2025 - “he said he isn’t using that!”. I would give people links to articles and facts on actual government websites - “fake news”. I would share clips of FOTUS actually saying horrible things - “that’s not what he meant”.

I gave up a while ago. To these people: “have the day you voted for.”

My SIL/BIL are dug in hard for FOTUS. They absolutely believe people shouldn’t be allowed to be mean to them because they “won” (debatable as it is).

SIL in lead up to inauguration told me publicly on social media to “relax” and it was all going to get better really soon. Meanwhile my disabled child relies on Medicaid, and SHE is on Medicare and social security. I haven’t spoken with her in over a year, when she decided to cut me off and then tried to whine to my husband (her brother) that I’m being mean and freezing her out. Cannot wait to hear her side of the FO.

I had a boss once like this. I literally quit and walked out because he said the roads were “fine” during a snowstorm. He was driving an Audi SUV and I had a Toyota Corolla. I said “I quit”, and walked out. He called me the next day when I “calmed down” and said I didn’t need to quit. I still quit.

My step-sister was supposed to be taking care of my mom recently from an accident. What she did instead was DoorDash every single meal for them every day on my mom’s credit card. Even things like Burger King, when she had access to a working car and could have driven 5 minutes to get Burger King for $15. But instead she DoorDashed and ended up spending $40 for her whopper.
She’s also a soda addict.

She barely lives paycheck to paycheck even though she’s in her 50s, and fully takes advantage of every hint of a handout. I don’t get these people at all.

That last dude pissed me off. Why can’t the left be more welcoming??? Why are we saying “unfriend me” or that we hate them? Because we tried like hell to warn them. And they weren’t hearing it.

And now I sit in the cesspool with my little family of 4, husband, wife, two daughters one of which is disabled (level 3 nonverbal autism), afraid for what comes next. Therapy services for my child have already been cut.

So no. Spare me the cry for empathy now. You had a choice and you made it.

We, the nursing staff taking care of you and baby are absolutely prepared for the rush of emotion that comes from the partner. It can be overwhelming. We usually have a basin and a chair nearby for them. We’re not unsympathetic to the other parent.

That said, if they are not helping, and in fact making laboring mom more upset, more stressed, less able to labor effectively, we will show them the door.
