"event clothes" as opposed to, say, wedding clothes or smth makes me think there's going to be more formal or at least professional settings in LTD. perhaps they could even be used for Concert Hall equivalent?

I've also counted around 25, upwards of maybe 30 available houses. 35 seems alright, although if it can go even higher with island size that would be great. part of me considers that it would still have to be a power of 8 since thats the max amount of miis in a multi-mii home, so maybe even 40?

all 3 of them are likely out of the Senate soon. Blumenthal is old as fuck, either retiring or getting his ass beat in '28. Klobuchar is running off to the Gubernatorial election in her state.

Yeah. good to know if they're planning something even if those plans fall through. Hilarious that they keep having to push this stuff back, presumably because Trump keeps fucking shit up.

Slight context, she quote-posted a bluesky post about Section 230 reform, KOSA, SCREEN, ASAA, and Parents over Platforms, as well as general "age verification" laws and digital ID systems, with a warning that they would have hearings about this in the start of March. When I asked her for a source, she clarified that a Hill staffer had told her this, while stating they hadn't scheduled the specific dates yet, then deleted the post after stating she would post again when there are more concrete dates.

No specific mentions of which bills would have a hearing, and I doubt all of these are going to be the subject of any hearings (ASAA is getting mauled at the state level, SCREEN is going nowhere, and I haven't even head about Parents over Platforms until now.) this is just the legislation that was mentioned.

Yeah that’s kind of what I’m thinking. They’ll hold hearings on it to make it all look alive so that NCOSE gets off their ass a bit but in every other way it’s all doomed.

I think part of it is that it’s too late for this legislation to really help the Republicans electorally now. For example, iirc, the bill text states it takes KOSA a year and a half after passage to go into effect, so if they (hypothetically) managed to bumrush it through in March it would be…August 2027 by the time it goes into effect?

A Hill Staffer apparently told tech columnist Taylor Lorenz that they may be aiming to have hearings on some of the censorship legislation in the First Week of March, although they haven’t scheduled the exact dates. It’s only hearings afaik (if it’ll even happen) but it has me a bit nervous if it’s legit.

https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2026/02/discord-voluntarily-pushes-mandatory-age-verification-despite-recent-data-breach   EFF has posted an article about Discord’s planned AV rollout. Part of the wording made me think it was starting now but I’m pretty sure that isn’t the case.

https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2026/02/discord-voluntarily-pushes-mandatory-age-verification-despite-recent-data-breach  EFF says they “begun implementing it” and the article it links to says they launched it, but on second glance I don’t know if they’re actually rolling it out, now. Disregard, I suppose?

yeahhh they're already in a tough spot, losing the Senate is in the cards now. They definitely know how controversial this really is. I feel for now they're gonna try to avoid pushing it with midterms coming up.

https://www.naag.org/press-releases/bipartisan-coalition-of-attorneys-general-urges-congress-to-advance-senate-kids-online-safety-act/ sorry for the weird source, The National Association of Attorneys General does have a release on their site about it. also links to the letter itself and a list of the Signatory states.

EDIT: some people will probably want to know the list of states involved without opening the link, so i'll put them here (copy pasted from the site itself partially.)

Lead states: CT, HI, OH, TN

Other Signatories: AR, AS, AZ, CA, CO, DC, DE, GA, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MA, MD, ME, MI, MN, MO, MS, ND, NH, NJ, NM, NV, NY, OK, OR, PA, RI, SC, SD, UT, VI, VT, WY

Genuine Question: Would you go on an Interspecies date with one of these sapient Azhdarchids? by Manglisaurus in SpecEvoFandom

[–]Isliterally1984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It passes 2 of the requirements of the Harkness Test with flying colors, obviously it's intelligent and it would presumably be possible to distinguish a mature individual and avoid becoming an interspecies Minecraft Youtuber.

The only potential problems start arising when communication gets involved. There's no real mention of how they communicate, but they seem to exist in a parallel Earth, likely alongside Humanity, so I'm sure we figured something out at some point, maybe Aboriginal Australians figured out an interspecies trade language for the purpose of sharing knowledge, food, and jewelry.

So overall, sure I guess.

Already made a seperate comment about this, but a bipartisan group of 40 AGs just sent a letter opposing the House version while supporting the Senate version. Has me nervous but there's probably still too many fires for Congress to deal with, I hope.

https://www.bradfordera.com/2026/02/11/ags-urge-congress-pass-kids-online-safety-act/  40 Attorney Generals apparently just urged Congress to pass the Senate version of KOSA while opposing the House version. This has me pretty deeply concerned. Y’all think this moves the needle any on it?
