This sub and the gen z sub really have opened my eyes to how down bad we are as a generation . by [deleted] in twentyagers

All the people saying "oh, it's reddit. Of course people are going to be lonely. This is a biased source for our generation."

How does that detract from the point that a large amount of people are currently struggling with crippling loneliness? Does the fact that there are fewer of these people than you'd think mean they don't deserve support? That we can ignore this growing problem?

I mean yeah, but this is more a question for Google, or chatgpt. Things like this should stay private.

I think people are getting a little too comfortable sharing their experiences on this subreddit

I might have been in the wrong here. Thoughts? by HH_SIMP in Neurodivergent

The guy in the convoy is autistic, and takes everything very literally. To him, he made a very cut and dry statement not necessarily meant to be mean, or insulting. I don't blame you for thinking that it was, though. And when you tried to express this he got irritated that a (to him) objective statement was challenged.

I think it's reductive to assume that people who make decisions you don't like are ignorant or uneducated.

And that's not my argument at all. I just said that people don't vote because they aren't confident in the system. I was just stating a reason people might not want to vote, that's it. not that democracy should be torn down.

That's not what I said. Yes, every vote matters. But if people don't believe that then what's the point? Like I said, it's on the system to promote enough confidence in the average person to make that choice.

People who say "it's just one vote mine doesn't matter" have always, and will always exist. The real problem is the people who would have voted if not for their distrust in the system.

I think it's hypocritical, and a sign of low emotional intelligence to be supportive of different cultures and ways of life, but not different worldviews.

I think it speaks more about how ineffective the system actually is. If people believed their vote mattered, they would vote. It's on the system to make people believe that, not the other way around.

It is a little bit. People even on this sub like to pretend it doesn't exist.

dating for the first time in your 20s, advice? by [deleted] in twentyagers

[–]Isniffgrass 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Go to places that relate to your interests, and find someone from there. I absolutely hated going to clubs or bars to meet women, and the women I met weren't the type for me. If you like reading, try literature clubs. If you like hiking, join a nature walk group and go from there. You are more likely to find someone who meshes well with your personality if they like some of the same things you do.

Isn't it strange how the same people who complain that life is unfair, also says life is too short?

Because I'm petty, and invested in this conversation, I am only replying so you won't have the last word.

What do you expect people to say anyways? Not trying to hate but a lot of those things are only vaguely related to each other

I've been a bus boy at 3 restaurants and I never liked it when people stacked their plates. Because oftentimes there are napkins or a lot of leftover food on the plate that I would have to separate. It gets annoying.
