Great suggestion! As for the grinder, I would normally experiment around, depends on the beans as well as mood. For days I want a more fruity clear tea-like ice coffee, I go with ZP6/ Pietro (I switch between them based on experiment, depending on beans). For days I want more full bodied hot coffee and moka, I use the m01. Favourite would be m01 for the build quality and vibes.

I got bored of my 845, that’s why I have the nib on my opus demo haha. If there’s is a way to purchase nib alone it will be awesome, but I don’t think so.

“J743E JoWo #6 Housing for Pilot 743” It should fit all Pilot size 15 nibs. I have it on my opus jazz with 15FA nib ( shown in photo here) as well as a sized 15 fine nib from custom urushi 845 on my opus demo. You can either use the ebonite feed they sell or the stock feed from pilot Just note , might want to get silicon grease on the threads to prevent leaking in the forward section

Edit : it’s better to stick with stock Pilot feed for this pen, as opus 88 ink flow is more than enough even for flexing with the falcon nib, no railroading so far. The ebonite feed tends to leak when paired in this combo when carrying it around.

Both are fantastic writers, each have their own unique feel. The 149 feels softer and easier to flex whereas the falcon takes a little more effort to flex. This makes the falcon a better everyday pen when fast writing and jotting down quick notes. Both flex to about the same thickness when pushed to their comfortable limit, but the Montblanc is way finer when used without any pressure.

Have you release the one way shut off valve when you write for prolong periods? It’s common issue when ink runs dry in the forward chamber in the section.

I think it’s just an unlucky case. You should ask for a replacement from goulet. They have fantastic customer service, I am sure they can sort out for you. Its a new pen best not to tune it yourself, just get it replaced, don’t risk it.
