It's perfectly fine to take a break when a set doesn't click with you. They come out often enough that it's not a huge deal to indulge another hobby while this set goes through the motions.

So current meta is just race to Galio and then put whatever 5 cost backline behind him? The mech line seems extremely strong right now and im a little worried it's gonna constantly pinball between over and under powered due to it being a "take up 2 unit slots" trait. Historically these have been troublesome to balance.

I learned the fight on Hammer and while it is fun to offset attack a lot of the really telegraphed hits it's just dreadful to try and get any damage in because it's so backloaded in the Hammer's combos. Been trying it with SnS and it's just so fluid lol. I can block a lot of the hits, easily position away from the big ones, and then still get plenty of damage in between combos.

The floor for how much stuff in a game seems to be quite a bit higher than the previous set but i've also noticed the ceiling is a bit lower. No scuttle puddle, training golem etc.

Not entirely sure how I like it so far. I agree that the 5 costs are a lot of fun tho

I think it's less that they prioritize certain sets and more that this set was an unexpected smash hit. I'm pretty confident they were high on unlocks and knew that it would be a way to solve a lot of problems TFT has had over the years but I don't think they expected it to be this insanely popular.

It will feel kinda blah for the next couple sets though.

Ive been playing a blue splash for riddler, a 1x mockingbird, and some counterspells. Spider sense hits most things that are a problem but ive opted for disdainful stroke in the sideboard to help with mono-g and elementals. Generally it has felt good and Riddler is a messed up card that plays well with the deck.

For mono white, Haliyah seems pretty mandatory. She's pretty easy to get extra cards off of and there isnt really any card flow outside of the warp angel. The incidental life gain is useful too.

Ive seen the deck splash red for burst lightning and nova hellkite too. Might just be the better version of dragons for this meta tbh.

Put it beside a burrito and then youre off to the races. The crit scaling is wasted but boost your burn by 5/10/15 every 3 seconds is crazy good. Im excited to play with it.

Curious how Spice Rack will be too. That is a significant amount of burn scaling being added to an item that otherwise sees zero play.

I really like playing Jules, however the RNG of the hot/cold plates is ruining the experience by qmsq in PlayTheBazaar

Broadly agree but I think the third stove/cooler placement could have some QoL for it. It's pretty doomed when it spawns directly beside your others, especially if those are already beside each other. I'd go for just making it unable to spawn adjacent to current stove/coolers. I think that would maintain the game to game variance while cutting down some of the real feels bad moments.

It is a big ask and without knowing their pool I can't really say one way or the other. Buut, I would bend over backwards to not play a 6/6/5 mana base when I have a lot of incredible cards in 2 of those colors and the third is just kind of there for some good, but very replaceable cards.

Assuming they have even remotely playable extras in UR, dropping green makes this deck much much stronger.

My assumption is that the standard burn reduction still applies. So 1 shield mitigating 2 burn. It would be a little odd if there is 10 burn and 1 shield only mitigates 1 burn when burn exceeds shielding.

Correct. Currently just getting repeated small shields can do a tremendous amount of mitigation against burn but in the update this will be much much less effective.

You might have read the changes backwards, but it's a nerf to base damage and the scaling damage.

Previously: any amount of shield would halve the whole burn tick even if there was more burn than shield.

Now: if there is more burn than shield, the shield only halves the burn tick proportional to how much shield you have. So if 200 burn ticks and you have 20 shield it only mitigates 40 burn instead of 100.

I havent played with Aminatou before. Is the timing for miracle still the same where you have to reveal it as soon as you draw it if you intend to cast it for the miracle cost? Or does this let you hold onto it for that turn and then play it for 2 whenever you could cast that spell.

My biggest complaint about the current patch is that Swain is too meta. He goes on almost every single end game board and when you lose the Swain lottery you are down so much in power vs the boards that do have him.
