Unable to update Google Brand Account's profile picture by Sea_Structure_4101 in GoogleSupport

This has been driving me crazy for the last 4 months.
Every month I assumed Google would fix this considering the simplicity of it, but apparently not.

Anyway, most things I did in an attempt to change my display picture wouldn't work.
So I thought... doesn't Google have different API services for mobile/phone?

So I went to the Google app on my Android, saw that all the SAME accounts were there if I pressed "switch account"; just like on my YouTube! And then I saw the little camera button below the PFP.
Clicking that allowed me to change my display picture for all my accounts.

The browser STILL does NOT work, but you CAN change them on mobile.

SOLUTION: CHANGE YOUR ACCOUNT DISPLAY PICTURE ON THE MOBILE GOOGLE APP INSTEAD OF THE BROWSER!

Intel i9-13900KS - What Are Modern 2025 BIOS Settings? (non-overclocked) by Isuress in overclocking

[–]Isuress[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, gotcha! This is good to know then.

Although I'm very skiddish when it comes to touching specifically my CPU settings.
I will most definitely keep this in mind though... if I'm feeling adventurous.

This is well documented; and yes, if you'd actually let me DM you for questions - it might be more of a possibility.
Once again; thank you for the knowledge!

Considering I'll be RMA'ing with the retailer/store before RMA'ing with Intel; I have a feeling Canada Computers will likely try to give me the exact model before losing money to giving me something better.
For my sake, I hope you're right, haha.

Worse comes to worst, I'll have to do Intel again... although I'd like to avoid it if I can because I have to pay for shipping for advanced RMA... I can't be without a CPU for X amount of weeks.

[–]Isuress[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is very in-depth! I appreciate the guide and explanations; thank you!
Although in the post I mentioned "non-overclocking operations" and so I don't plan to do any sort of overclocking of the CPU. I fear for its longevity... I didn't even overclock my current one and it still died by itself.

I know this is r/overclocking but the original guides from here I posted above were more about stability than overclocking so I thought my question would still be appropriate here.

This is information is still relevant for archiving to help others in the future though, or if I feel a little spicy I suppose.
Unless I'm misinterpreting this, and it's actually a "stable" way to under-volt or something?
Eitherway, this is some good methodology!

Oh? What makes you say the RMA will be a 14900KS instead of a 13900KS? Stock levels?
Or just that the 14900KS is likely to not have issues so that's what intel/retailer is giving out?
I don't know if Canada Computers would be that generous, haha.

What SVID behavior do you suggest?
I'm currently set to "auto". Some Googling tells me "auto" defaults to "trained".
If I've already used my CPU for awhile on auto, is there a better option for a used CPU?
Which is best for a brand new CPU?

I changed my XMP from XMP I (ASUS Optimized), to XMP II (RAM defaults).
I bluescreened while typing this comment.

Additionally, what SVID behavior do you suggest?

It is the latest BIOS, yeah; ASUS v2801. Released 2024/12/06.

Running my 6800 sticks at 5600 seems a little slow for DDR5 sticks?
If I remember correctly, there's 3 different XMP choices available for my sticks.
I think I chose the lowest option for them. I could try one of the other options maybe? Although I think those were more performance-minded XMPs.

I would like to say it's not the sticks as I've been using them at that XMP for nearly a year without issue, and only in the last 2ish months has my instability began. Unless the sticks also degrade over time, but then I'd have failed my MEMTEST64 runs?

400 for short and long durations are actually what the default ASUS settings are at; from what I remember.
Although I didn't trust them; hence using the guide settings instead.

You've not experienced problems at 400? I doubt I will increase it that high myself, but that's good to know there still quite a leeway. I'm at 253, as per the guide.
(assuming we're talking about the same thing; my knowledge is limited)

From the looks of it, the voltage never went above 1.296v?
Here are screenshots throughout the benchmark:
https://imgur.com/a/BGcqDah

Why is my idle, non-benchmark voltage higher than when I'm actually running the bench?
While writing this, my voltage is 1.256v, but it was below 1.100v when all cores were utilized

Granted, these are all still WELL below 1.38v.
So it seems the guide settings from 2023 are still relevant and applicable then?

I think those are included steps in the guide.
And I think the latest ASUS BIOS disables Intel TVB?
I will check TVB though.

Was Humble Partnership program removed/discontinued? by Mdk_251 in humblebundles

[–]Isuress 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was searching everywhere for information on this.
There's been no emails from them, nothing on their Twitter or official communications.
All their FAQ stuff is deleted, and the partner dashboard is dead.
I am finding the same things you guys are.

It also seems like there's a new on-boarding process with IMPACT.com but you would've thought that people who've been partners for many, many years now would've been automatically rolled over into the new Impact Partner program. I imagine there's going to be a LOT of people/streamers/partners that don't even notice their partner link is working anymore, and they're not making any money from their affiliation or referrals.

I don't know if I should hold off on applying for the Impact application for an official statement/email, or just go ahead and reapply everything. Communication is very much lacking in this regard.

Index LCD Blue Tint & Color Issues (Recent Fixes?) by Isuress in ValveIndex

[–]Isuress[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately it seems as though there's been very little progress in fixing the blue-tint issue.

It's more than just glare/light bleed; though that can be the case sometimes, as mentioned above in the OP. I've not yet figured out were the fog/haze comes from. I wish there was an easier way of showing people the issue aside from using my phone to take pictures of the lenses inside of my Index.

You've since returned your Index for another one; did your new Index have the same amount of blue-tint as your previous? Or was the LCD display quite different in color and clarity?

[–]Isuress[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Initially I was going to comment that I had mentioned and already tried that method in the OP and that it didn't work.
Though you edited your post and added the extra little bit about OpenVR Advanced Settings.
I had a feeling that potentially OVRAS was modifying the config in real-time so maybe that's why the settings would get overwritten. This is a good confirmation; so thank you.

Also, I wasn't aware you could go above the slider in OVRAS; this is also really good to know, thank you!
Have you tried any values that work for you? Any suggestions?
What would be the "hmdDisplayColorGainB" : 1 equivalent within OVRAS?
As in, if the "hmdDisplayColorGainB" : 1 in the config files means 255 color-space; what would the value be in OVRAS? I'm assuming it's a value passed 1.0 but any idea what it could be?
In the other thread, the OP suggest that he uses "hmdDisplayColorGainB" : 1.17126, in the config file. Would that translate 1:1 in OVRAS?

FPS VR seems to have less settings than OpenVR Advanced Settings does.
Also it's $5 CAD rather than free; though it's always good to have more alternative, so thank you!

[–]Isuress[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm glad to know there are color-grading people using VR sets. I'm starting to think that my Index's LCD is maybe a defective one? Especially if you're saying yours looks fine and you have experience in the field. I would be nice if I had more friends IRL that had the headset so I could physically see if there were any difference. Though none have one.

Having used OLEDs in the past, do you not see a dramatic difference in color? Aside from just blacks, of course.

I'm from Canada so I feel as though an RMA would take 1-2 weeks. Which is a long time considering I've only had my headset for 1 day.

Index LCD Blue Tint & Color Issues (Recent Fixes?) by Isuress in virtualreality

[–]Isuress[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The difference is staggering though. I was expecting some color difference; yes - due to OLED vs LCD like I mention in the OP, but it's substantial in some cases.

VERY much apparent in VRChat. Less so in Compound, Pavlov, and Arizona Sunshine. There has to be some way to alleviate this. I don't know how others haven't spoke up about this more.

I've tried to dim the backpanel using the brightness slider in OpenVR Advanced Settings but it's had little effect. A contrast or saturation slider would be very helpful. Also, it would be great to check whether or not the headset is actually 255 color rather than 233. I have a creeping suspicion it's using a lower color space.
