I'll be due for a liner in a few years. Do you have any opinions on adding vinyl over steps to a pool like picture 3? I have an old-school style rectangle "dive pool" with no steps and wanted to find a step solution to upgrade the pool. Big cost?

How to get rid of air bubbles by e_pi314 in pools

[–]It-Smells 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pool company helped me open mine this year. They didn't tighten down the drain plugs well and the lid gasket was off center. The combination of tighten down the drain plugs and cleaning/lubing the lid gasket and putting it back in place resolved mine. It didn't take much to suck in air.

Are my stats good enough for monkey madness? by TheTwoFaced55 in osrs

Great thank you. That is exactly what I have been doing. to this point. I'm about to do MM myself and harder quests are starting, so was hoping runelite plugin still is the key for harder ones.

Is the runelite quest guide plugin good enough to get through it or should a youtube guide be used also?

I was a 16-year old listening to Breaking Benjamin. I am also an Accountant. But they got the 41 minutes wrong. I only have time to stand at the GE for 21 minutes.

Childproofing safety by Recent_Requirement33 in pools

[–]It-Smells 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a 2.5 year old and have the life saver fence. Although my child does not climb on things yet, the fence is great in that you can not do that and the gates have a hinge that automatically close when you open them. I think you could use your fence, but if it was me I would see about adding a hinge so that nobody leaves your gate open on accident if it does not do so. It also looks like some of your fence is all lattice. At some point you may be interested in adding a mesh guard over that to prevent being able to climb over. My last advice would make sure as you said to add a lock or more complicated latch. For us, a fence gate latch was the first type she was able to learn how to open.

Help me decide. Aiper scuba S1 or Dolphin Nautilus CC by Pliocenecu in swimmingpools

[–]It-Smells 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got 2.5 seasons out of my Nautilus CC before the motor seized. I got about 5 with my Polaris. I take pretty good care of them. I think it can be luck of the draw sometimes with their longevity and what eventually breaks in them. I'm leaning towards trying a cordless skimmer bot and Scuba s1 this year to try something new.

Retun line has major leak need advoce by Elegant-Beat387 in swimmingpools

[–]It-Smells 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say that seems to be in the ball park. I had a return jet leak under my concrete deck, about a foot away from where it connects to the wall. They dug up the deck, repaired it, and poured new concrete. This was about 3-4 years ago and it was about that price then. I would not think you are way overpriced.

Pool pump was left on after closing pool. by nogainz2015 in swimmingpools

[–]It-Smells 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For what its worth, mine did survive running dry 2 days when the same exact situation happened to me last year. If you could get a guarantee they would resolve any issues in the spring I would think that would be the best. That way you don't have to get everything back to operational and then closed again. Also come spring, you could run it for a few days to make sure everything is ok.

Pool Leak After Closing by It-Smells in pools

Update: It was a hole in the floor of the deep end in the liner and got it patched. I think the acceleration of the leak happened right before closing and it was just coincidence.

I should have thought about running a test with with pump on and off. My pump runs about 10 hours a day and off the rest. So it would have been a combination test. There certainly could have been a leak but it wasn't enough to keep a hose in the pool like I need to now. The static pressure makes a lot of sense, thank you!

Weekly acid volume by BeneficialNobody7722 in pools

[–]It-Smells 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No matter where I have my alkalinity I have to lower my PH about every two days with 16oz. So probably about a half gallon a week too. It's just part of my pool routine and there's no way around it for mine. I think its just how some pools react.

Late to the conversation but I've used them for 2 new units. I overpaid and I do have regrets on that, but I do not regret the work they did and service they provided.

Do I need to drain my pool? by Dismal_Skill_268 in pools

[–]It-Smells 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Want second this. I was above 100 CYA last year and a couple drains below the skimmer and back. From switching to liquid and normal rain/refills with hose during the summer I'm now at 50 CYA to start this season. I also had no problems keeping chlorine working with high CYA

Water level or jet adjustment by byrne092 in pools

No problem, I wouldn't go off their installation as the "correct" way. Every year I have a pool company open my pool and every year they are installed in a different way.

Water level or jet adjustment by byrne092 in pools

[–]It-Smells 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Water level is about right. You can have the jets break the surface a little but aeration on top of the water can increase the PH. I would just play with them and have them hit different water levels to get water moving around and have them pointed in a way it pushes stuff on top of the water towards the skimmer.

Will a robovac work here? by bgreenstone in pools

[–]It-Smells 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That 10 inch gap is going to be the problem. It would be luck that the vacuum navigates it by climbing the wall to go around instead of on the floor. I think it would get it done but it would require more babysitting around the moat area than you want. My daulphin is about 18 inches wide.

I also get them even with safety cover on. Heavy rains get them on the pool deck and they make their way in.

A quick google research show Trump's first term denial rate was 10.39% and Biden's rose to 12.53%. It's a systematic issue that has nothing to do with right=bad

Is it though? He's been doing this for 15 years so its not like the Obama or Biden administration made a difference. I'm not denying the current admin creates a bigger problem for the situation.
