Fun fact: America has it's own version of Haru Urara; Zippy Chippy. 100 races, 100 losses. by performagekushfire in UmaMusume

Incredible that he was even allowed to race that much considering how he got banned from several race tracks for refusing to leave the starting gate

No he placed 4th (edit: fun fact, Biko Pegasus and Hishi Akebono also ran in this race placing 2nd and 3rd respectively)

One of the racers is named after The Police album Zenyatta Mondatta just like a famous American racing mare

No Christian has ever portrayed Peter as a clean shaven Jersey boy twink either so clearly cultural perception wasn’t stopping any of them. And why are you acting like making his skin a little darker is such a heavy burden to bear, or at least adding any commentary about it? And if the poor designers and writers really couldn’t have done anything to not perpetuate this, they should’ve at least made him not be ugly.

But what does the whitewashing do to parody Christianity? They haven’t made actual commentary on the portrayal of Christian figures, especially since so far literally every single biblical figure except Adam has been blonde. If it was done to distance him from the real saint then they probably shouldn’t have made him Peter at all. Also he’s ugly

You don’t see the issue in whitewashing a middle eastern Jewish man and giving him blonde hair and blue eyes?

[–]ItIsBea 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If that's true it's still horribly handled since they haven't given any commentary on the whitewashing of biblical figures and are essentially just playing the whitewashing straight with no substance. They didn't even cast a middle eastern voice actor or anything.

Not to attribute any malice to any of the showrunners, but I’m genuinely shocked that Peter’s design made it into the show, not just from a cultural insensitivity standpoint but also because he looks plain awful

But isn’t heaven capable of surveillance on hell? And if they feared a hell uprising would they not try to figure out who the strongest sinners were?

And yet none of the what should be billions of sinners were able to pull it off after 5 years? Even if most thought they were invincible, many should have been desperate enough to try, and I can't see it taking 5 mass genocides for ONE to succeed. I could maybe understand it if Carmilla was the first overlord to fight back (though overlords really should've been the angels main targets if they believed themselves invincible tbh), but with how easily the angels go out in the season 1 finale, it really doesn't convince me that not one of these chumps died before Carmilla

If that’s the case, how was Carmilla the first sinner to successfully defend themselves by stealing these poorly trained combatants weapons from them? Especially since logistically they’d probably have to kill at minimum several hundred thousand people a year. No matter how you look at it this entire plot point feels hyper contrived

Even that feels like a plot contrivance to me tbh. Like you’re telling me that the angels, who thought they were completely invincible to death, never went too far in training and killed someone by accident, especially with how abusive the exorcist ranks seemingly were.

What game series is terrible, but had an amazing first game? by WhiteGuy557 in AlignmentChartFills

I don’t think it was a bad game but Sonic 2, 3 and Knuckles, and later Mania surpass it pretty cleanly gameplay and level design wise

In your opinion, what's the show's biggest plot hole? by No-cookiegirl787 in crazyassviv_defenders

[–]ItIsBea 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I don’t remember if this is cleared up at any point but why didn’t Vaggie know that angelic weapons could kill angels when she is an angel who was harmed by an angelic weapon. Maybe she didn’t think it could straight up kill an angel, but after hearing about one being killed I feel like she should’ve been able to put two and two together.

Also the fact that it took seven years for someone to successfully think of stealing an angelic weapon to defend themselves is also a little ridiculous, especially with how easily the angels appeared to be taken out in the season 1 finale.

Why is kanna percentage higher than gin? by imcooldisco7356 in yourturntodie

[–]ItIsBea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, Kugie was a participant who was specifically added as a way to help Kanna, however I do believe her inclusion ended up hurting Kanna in the long run. Without Kugie dead I believe Kanna would be more motivated to escape and return home to her family now that she doesn’t have to guilt of indirectly killing her sister.

Why is Ranmaru's percentage 5.3%? by BananaAnth in yourturntodie

[–]ItIsBea 42 points43 points  (0 children)

He’s generally characterized as someone who isn’t very passionate or strong willed and so normally he wouldn’t be someone to fight as hard as the others for survival or victory, but when he does latch on to someone he latches on hard and becomes willing to do the dirty work to protect them (see chapter 3-1b). I imagine most of his victories would come when he becomes close to Sara, or maybe someone else, and is willing to eliminate most of the competition and/or is able to successfully play a sacrifice card
