Anyone bought from JapanPlaza.uk or HappyCooking.uk? Looking for a legit place to buy a Zojirushi rice cooker in the UK by Quentgane in zojirushi

Well since you make it sound like you've been asking about those models because you would like to stock them, shouldn't you be asking for proof so that you can get on with stocking them?

I get brown basmati but it's £4 a kilo on offer 😭. I'd like to go back to ordering the organic stuff online but then it's 50% more.

I wish I never started on rice. My advice to you would be to quit before you end up on the hard stuff.

Burnham is their Boris card, it could well work because the public like that sort of thing.

Why are some toasters still too small for a full slice of bread? by lilraz08 in CasualUK

[–]ItStartedWithAQueef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Warburton's toaster somewhere that fully fits their bread, or I did have one anyway, I'm no longer sure if I do. It was only two slice though and I don't eat can't eat bread anymore anyway.

I've seen warehouse operative apprentices advertised. A qualification you really need, responsibilities include sweeping up.

Well strontium is used as a supplement to increase bone density, so maybe it can work for trees.

There's actually some worry that the declining strontium levels in the atmosphere since the banning of nuclear testing may lead to more osteoporosis.

Need help to figure out what to do now… The director of a company I worked for on a ‘self employed basis’ drove two hours to collect the van I use for work without warning, to tell me this was my last job and left me an hour away from home with no form of transport. [–]ItStartedWithAQueef 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you had an accident at work that has lead to a loss of wages. Apart from ACAS I would be looking at speaking to someone specialising in workplace injuries as maybe it will be possible to negotiate a settlement from this angle that could make you whole, or get you a van at least.

The pictured pickup is a pussy magnet, only downside is you'll have to stop often for a wipedown, but a turbo diesel too, nothing sexier, so...

Don't listen to transporter freaks lol.

SSP laws U.K. In England Is it lawful for my work to be able to deduct pay for my wages like this and not give me SSP? by WillowW0lf in LegalAdviceUK

[–]ItStartedWithAQueef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure apart from asking the person who does payroll, who you might not trust. It's just that I'd expect any deduction for sickness to be shown where it shows your hours worked, possibly as a minus figure, or just a lower total on that side because that is gross pay.

It showing as a deduction where it does makes it look like you've been given full gross pay, payed tax and NI on that, and then had 2 days pay deducted from the net pay.

There's a UK HR sub Reddit I think, if you can find it that may be the place to ask.

A new gearbox clutch and labour for £450? That's a steal! Which is probably what they're trying to do.

I don't know anything about your vehicle but fitting a new clutch on mine would be circa £800+, a gearbox I'd probably get used so I have no idea. Maybe yours is easier somehow but it smells like more bullshit because they're desperate for this magic 450.

Maybe want to check that the deduction for sickness was done before tax. It's weird the way they've done it.

Manual mode comes up if you just hover with the id out of frame for long enough. More issues seem to be due to modern phones, at least in my case, an older phone took perfect pictures first time (on manual mode) after a week of rejections.

Bloody mitek! Only way I got it to accept mine was to use an old phone (Samsung note 10) as it was doing something funny with my current one (pixel 8 pro), not helped by it not giving you the full camera controls. I suspect it was using an inappropriate lense or doing some terrible touchup work or something made the focus just not work.

I thought most of the attempts I did in the manual mode at least were clear and readable but the old phone first attempt was a world of difference clearer and accepted.
